Rewind, also known as the Rewind Grenade in Zombies, is a payload for Synaptic and a Zombies-exclusive grenade in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Multiplayer[]
It is unlocked at level 12, and is usable for Synaptic. Rewind allows the player to literally rewind themselves along the path they have traversed to the location they were located at three seconds prior. Using Rewind also refills player's ammunition and heals the player to full health.
Rewind is useful for classes utilizing shotguns and submachine guns, as Rewind allows the player to quickly escape from a situation they cannot excel in, such as entering a room filled with enemy players. Rewind also sports scouting uses, as a player can enter an objective location to determine who and what is currently occupying the room, then use Rewind to escape from the situation and then approach the same area with knowledge of the enemy force's defensive setup.
The Rewind cooldown was originally 60 seconds, however this was increased to 90 seconds in the February 3rd, 2017 update[1].
Zombies[]
In Zombies in Spaceland, it can be purchased for 25 tickets inside if one of the reward stands located around the park. In Rave in the Redwoods, it can be obtained by first activating the Rewind Challenge at the challenge station located just outside Bear Cabin next to a waterfall (near where a Banshee Wall Buy is). The Rewind Challenge requires the player to melee kill 15 zombies. Once this is done, the Rewind can be retrieved from the challenge station. It has a cooldown of two rounds.
When using the Rewind, the player will go back in time four-to-five seconds, making it very useful when trapped. When desired, simply press the action key/button of the slot the Rewind is in, and the player will rewind back in time. This can be very helpful in high rounds for getting away from Brutes and other strong enemies. Like its multiplayer counterpart, it also tops up the ammo of any guns the player has, making it function almost like a portable, on-demand Max Ammo for the player that uses it.
