Ryan Jackson's responsibility is to provide analysis on materials inclusive of those involving Operation 40 and Studies and Observation Group (SOG) personnel, in addition to intel of all manners related to and surrounding Project Nova. Most of these reports were sent to Richard Kain, his supervisor.[1]

In 1978, he asked to be assigned for temporary field status for Operation Charybdis, a mission to eliminate Alex Mason, Jason Hudson and Grigori Weaver in South Africa.[1] In an email accessed from the terminal, Jackson received clearance from Richard Kain to lead the operation.[2]

By the end of the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops, Jackson had completely lost faith in Mason's sanity, claiming "...there's no way the KGB or Dragovich didn't sink their claws into his skull". He recommends in the same memo to Jason Hudson that as soon as Mason provides them with the information they need, he ought to be killed, specifically with a Mozambique Drill - two to the chest, one to the head.

Despite this, Jackson continued to monitor the activities of Mason, Hudson and Woods until 1989, after the events of Operation Just Cause which resulted in the death of Hudson (and possibly Mason), plus Woods having his legs crippled. On January 12th, 1990, he recorded several reports on all three individuals. In the reports, Jackson talked about several CIA missions carried out by Mason and Woods from 1975 to 1979, all handled by Hudson. He also filed in a report on the assassination of Jose Luiz Menendez.

In Sebastian Krueger's research of the MK operations, he sends files containing the CIA server's mails and documents. In the files, Jackson's mails are shown.
