Special Combat Air Recon Team 1 (SCAR Team 1) is a playable faction in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. During the UNSA-SDF War, SCAR Team 1 played a pivotal role in the conflict, ensuring a UNSA victory over the Settlement Defence Front.
History[]
Formed under the purview of Special Combat Air Recon under the overall command of the SATO Naval Special Operations Task Force, SCAR Team One was attached to the UNSA's flagship SWC-141 Retribution. As with SCAR, SCAR Team One was trained and equipped with Jackals, allowing for extensive ship-boarding operations. Led by Lt. Nick Reyes, the team also included Lt. Nora Salter. During Fleet Week, SCAR Team One was initially groundside in Geneva hours before the outbreak of war.
Geneva Attack[]
Following the SDF annexation of Europa and subsequent execution of the entirety of SCAR Team 7, SCAR Team One was debriefed by STRATCOM on the nature of the Europa facility. SCAR-1 departed from the facility with Admiral Frederick Raines and met up with prototype robot E3N "Ethan" in a Raven shuttle. With the team set to link up with the UNSA Vengeance, the AATIS defence network suddenly turned hostile against the UNSA fleet and began shooting down numerous vessels. Concurrently, an SDF invasion fleet dropped in and began inflicting heavy casualties amongst UNSA forces. SCAR Team One was amongst those caught in the initial anti-air volley and crashed into a nearby shopping mall. Upon recovering, SCAR Team One made their way through the city, eventually arriving at a SATO staging point just beyond the AATIS tower. With SDF forces dug in, SCAR Team One led SATO forces into a desperate frontal assault against the SDF defences. With assistance from SATO naval and air forces, SCAR Team One narrowly prevented SDF forces from destroying the AATIS defence network. The capture of SDF sleeper cell Commander Akeel Min Riah led to the discovery of the SDF's invasion plan.
The reactivation of the AATIS defence network allowed surviving SATO vessels to drive off the invasion fleet into low-earth orbit. SCAR Team One boarded their Jackals as they joined the rest of the SATO vessels in destroying the remaining SDF vessels. However, just as the battle concluded, the SDF supercarrier Olympus Mons jumped into the UNSA flotilla. The surprise attack caught the flotilla off-guard, resulting in the total destruction of eight of the remaining 10 surviving SATO vessels. SCAR Team One subsequently landed on the Retribution, as the team sought further orders in the wake of the attack.
