Private Sandler was a U.S. Army Rangers who appears in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. He appears in the level "Second Sun" and "Whiskey Hotel".

Biography

Private Sandler is first seen in "Of Their Own Accord" defending the Dagger Two-One crash site. Private Wade hands Ramirez a M4A1 and is soon shot in the back of the head and instantly killed. Upon this, Sandler makes the callout, "Wade's down!". After the ICBM goes off, Sandler circles around to Ramirez's side of the Blackhawk and frees him from the wreckage. He follows the rest of the squad to the Department of Justice, where he and Corporal Dunn both uniquely front flip over an incoming flaming bike threatening to sweep them off their feet. After Hunter Two-One assembles in the Department of Justice, they then exit with some protest from Dunn. Dunn and Sandler make several remarks about the situation to eachother, and then reach the office complex after a running into a runner, informing them they had to regroup at Whisky Hotel. In the office complex, Sandler is scripted to die in the first firefight. Later, however, a Sandler is seen in the beginning of Whiskey Hotel where pushes up with a group of Rangers after they exit the Presidential Bunker and reach Colonel Marshall's dugout, but is killed by enemy machinegun fire from the White House.

Trivia

Despite being a randomly generated model, he usually spawns with ACU cover over his helmet and with yellow goggles pad in "Second Sun".
Sandler is named after an employee of Infinity Ward, Paul Sandler.
At the end of "Second Sun", McCord is seen covering the door while the player enters the bunker. However, in the next mission, "Whiskey Hotel", his place is taken by Sandler, who has apparently come back to life and taken McCord's position, even dying in his place on the White House lawn. This is considered a developer oversight, even though it is not fixed in the remastered version, which doesn't even remove his scripted death to add more continuity.
