The Sentry Grenade Launcher is a piece of equipment that appears in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Survival Mode.
Overview
The player can buy the Sentry Grenade Launcher in the Equipment armory once they reach level 31. It is able to be picked up and moved similar to the Sentry Gun. It is an Mk 19 Grenade Launcher with a shield and functions as a more powerful Sentry Gun. It doesn't fire as fast as a Sentry Gun, which renders it vulnerable to suicide dogs and fairly armored infantry. Hiding behind the shield of the gun is effective against light infantry and Chemical Agents, but at later rounds, it becomes inefficient and requires protection. For balance reasons, it is not available in multiplayer. It is also shorter than its minigun counterpart, which means it cannot be used to fire out at targets through most windows, rather, the shot will impact the windowsill, damaging the gun. It works well against groups of enemies which the minigun variant is vulnerable against. It can engage enemy little birds just like its minigun counterpart but the grenades it fires takes time to travel towards the target and can miss if the target moves to a different location. If the explosive can impact the chopper, it can do a fair amount of damage. Players should stay away from the explosions as it is strong enough to down them, this can also become a hazard to Delta and Riot Shield Squads. Sentry Grenade Launchers also work well against a Juggernaut and should be placed at a distance to reduce the chance of the Sentry being disabled.
