Silo is a multiplayer map released as part of the Annihilation map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops on June 28, 2011 for Xbox 360, and July 28, 2011 for PS3 and PC. Silo was originally planned to be released with Call of Duty: Black Ops, but it was delayed before the release.


Silo is a large map in Call of Duty: Black Ops. It has a snow landscape with tactical buildings and small corridors. Silo takes place at a Russian nuclear missile plant in the Soviet Union. The map has a variety of combat options, with many long lines of sights and high perches that serve in favor of sniper rifles and light machine guns. And many close quarters options that favor in sub-machine guns and shotguns inside buildings and around obstacles such a vehicles or parts of construction.




  • About every minute and a half a rocket launches outside of the map.
  • On the cliffside edge of the map, there is red netting that has been cut open, and there is a rope going down to a ledge. There is also a pick axe at the top of the rope.
  • On the top right corner of the map, there is an opening in a gate for dogs to come through.
