The Slug Rounds are a weapon attachment available to shotguns in Call of Duty: Ghosts and to the Rack-9 Smoothbore variant in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. They replace the default buckshot ammunition with slugs similar to that of the KSG from Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

Call of Duty: Ghosts

"Trade spread shot for a single deadly slug."
— In-game description

The Slug Rounds are available to all shotguns in Call of Duty: Ghosts. Slugs are single, high damage rounds that require more accurate aiming, but have unlimited range and higher damage at range. When equipped, the default hipfire reticle is modified by adding a smaller circle inside of the normal spread range. The slug round would hit anywhere within the cone of fire, except inside that little circle, when hipfired, so ADS is essential in order to hit targets from short-mid range out. The modified damage multipliers are:

  • Head = 1.4
  • Neck and Upper Torso = 1.15
  • Lower Torso = 1.1
  • Left Lower Arm, Right Upper Arm, Left Lower Arm, Right Upper Leg = 1.0
  • Left Upper Arm, Right Lower Arm, Hands, Left Upper Leg, Right Lower Leg and Feet = 0.9

Slug rounds need to be fired accurately to deal damage, so equipping a sight on the shotgun can be beneficial, removing the default iron sights for a more clearer ADS view. Muzzle Brake is also beneficial because of the increased damage at long range, complementing the slug rounds' unlimited range. Quickdraw also helps faster aiming at targets. Using it on the Bulldog or the MTS-255 require extreme control, as these weapons can easily make the slugs miss if one doesn't allow the recoil to settle, and can easily dispose of valuable slug ammunition.

Slug Rounds appear in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare as an Epic Gun Perk called Slug. The slug rounds have a further range than buckshot and can land one-shot kills to the upper arms, lower torso and upwards, however they sport little to no spread of bullets. It only appears on the Epic variant of the Rack-9 shotgun, the Rack-9 Smoothbore.

"Fires a single, powerful bullet."
— Description

Slug Rounds returns in Call of Duty: Mobile as 500gr Slug. It is available as ammunition attachments for all shotguns except for the HS2126. When equipped, the shotguns will fire one single powerful bullet the can one-hit kill enemies easily. However, the projectile will lose its damage values at range, causing mid to long range fights extremely inadvisable.
