Super Easter Eggs are additional rewards or quests for players to complete in Zombies mode that are typically unlocked by completing all, or most of, the other Zombies maps main quests, or Easter Eggs, across a single game. Super Easter Egg's are present in Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: WWII, and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Exactly how to complete a Super Easter Egg and what it rewards players with changes from game to game, ranging from powerful rewards for the remainder of a run to completely new encounters, game modes, and story beats.

Call of Duty: Black Ops[]

Main article: Richtofen's Grand Scheme

In Call of Duty: Black Ops, the Super Easter is, in essence, the ability to complete the final map, Moon's, easter egg at all. Richtofen's Grand Scheme requires that players have obtained both the Vril Device and the Focusing Stone by completing Call of the Dead's Ensemble Cast and Shangri-La's Time Travel Will Tell respectively. At least one player in the match must have completed both prior in order to start the quest.

If players have done so, they will be able to complete Richtofen's Grand Scheme as normal, being rewarded with all eight Perk-a-Colas permanently as well as swapping Richtofen for Samantha Maxis as a playable character, both for the remainder of the game. Players will have to re-complete Richtofen's Grand Scheme to be granted these rewards again on future runs.

Ascension's Casimir Mechanism quest is not required in order to activate the Super Easter Egg. In Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles, Moon's easter egg can be completed with no prerequisites for the same rewards.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II[]

In Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the Super Easter Egg is available on the map Buried. All players in a session must have completed TranZit, Die Rise, and Burieds easter eggs; Tower of Babble, High Maintenance, and Mined Games respectively. Additionally, all players must have placed the Navcards in the correct NAV table on each map. There are two different rewards available, depending on if players have chosen to support Edward Richtofen or Ludvig Maxis.

Overview[]

Players can track their progress in one of two ways. First, after completing an easter egg, the associated maps icon on the map selection screen will begin to glow with an aura based on the character it was completed for, blue for Richtofen and orange for Maxis. The icon will also emit a noise when scrolled to. The icon will stay lit until players activate the Super Easter Egg, or complete the other side of the Easter Egg, which will change it’s color.

Second, at the back of the courthouse in Buried, on the first floor, is a box showing a 3x4 light grid that acts as an "Easter Egg Tracker'. This shows which easter eggs that each player in the session has completed as well as the side that they completed it for. From left to right, the lights represent Tranzit, Die Rise, and Buried. Like with the map icons, an orange light indicates having completed the quest for Maxis whereas blue lights indicate Richtofen.

Players can only activate the super easter egg if all lights for all players are a single color, at which point a button will be revealed on the tracker that can be interacted with.

Upon activating the Super Easter Egg, all easter egg progress for all maps will be reset. Players can activate the Super Easter Egg in any session. They can start it right after completing Mined Games, start a new game and activate it at the very beginning, or anywhere in between.

Mob of the Dead and Origins’s easter eggs are not necessary to complete the Super Easter Egg, and will not be affected by the player's progress of it.

Rewards[]

If players support Richtofen, they are rewarded with all perks available on Buried, a permanent Fire Sale, and a unique version of Mule Kick that allows them to hold an additional fourth weapon.

If players support Maxis, there is no immediate reward. However, Richtofen’s soul will be sent into a respawning Zombie that can be identified by its blue eyes, and killing one will always reward a Power-Up. Zombies eyes will also change to orange, and the Maxis will takeover as the Demonic Announcer.

Rewards are only available for the duration of the session. Once a game ends, players will have to complete all Easter Eggs again in order to obtain the rewards a second time.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III[]

Main article: A Better Tomorrow

In Call of Duty: Black Ops III, the Super Easter Egg has a name of it’s own, “A Better Tomorrow". In order to complete A Better Tomorrow, all previous Easter Eggs must be completed in advance, in any order:

  1. Apocalypse Averted on Shadows of Evil.
  2. Fly Trap on The Giant.
  3. My Brother's Keeper on Der Eisendrache.
  4. Seeds of Doubt on Zetsubou no Shima.
  5. Love and War on Gorod Krovi.

After the above are completed, a Gateworm icon will light up on the map selection for Revelations, or the Summoning Key in the case of Shadows of Evil. All five icons must be lit up in order to complete A Better Tomorrow.

A Better Tomorrow is completed once players complete the Easter Egg for Revelations, For The Good of All, after having completed the other Easter Eggs. If players complete For the Good of All before having done the five prior easter eggs, they will have to complete it again to receive the Super Easter Egg reward. An early completion does not reset any progress tracked from completing the other Easter Eggs.

Rewards[]

Unlike previous Super Easter Eggs, the rewards for ‘’Black Ops III’’ are more permanent from run to run. For completing the quest, players are rewarded with 1,000,000 XP with the name "Enigmatic Epilogue" (enough to prestige once, or gain 18 levels if Prestige Master), and the special "Primis Rulz" Dark Ops Calling Card is unlocked. Players will then earn the A Better Tomorrow achievement.

The RK5 is also permanently given as a new starting pistol alongside the Bloodhound in Shadows of Evil, the Mauser C96 in Origins, the M1911 in the Zombies Chronicles maps, and the MR6 in all other maps. Both the original starting pistol for the respective map and the RK5 will begin the game with maximum ammunition (8+80 and 15+120 respectively).

On any subsequent runs of Revelations, there will be a "spark" in the headlight of the broken down truck of the Spawn Room. During the Easter Egg, after obtaining all 3 Audio Reels and guiding S.O.P.H.I.A to power up the Kino der Toten Teleporter, ensure there are only a few zombies left. Grab the "spark" from the headlight, and carefully make one's way to the Kino der Toten teleporter. All players must be in the Teleporter, and the player with the "spark" should interact with the wooden chest in the room with the "?" drawn in chalk on it, which can easily be done while also grabbing the Kronorium from the edge of the bed. Upon return, the Path of Sorrows becomes available off the wall for 500 Points at the top of the big staircase in Shangri-La. It takes up a weapon slot unlike the Bowie Knife, and is a one hit melee until Round 42.

When done successfully, this also enables the Wall Power and Crate Power GobbleGum effects for all players the rest of the match: all weapons purchased off the wall and from the Mystery Box will be Pack-a-Punched. This even extends to the Li'l Arnies, should any players now obtain it from the Box.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare[]

Main article: Director's Cut

In Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the Easter Eggs for Zombies in Spaceland, Rave in the Redwoods, Shaolin Shuffle, Attack of the Radioactive Thing, and The Beast From Beyond must all be completed to unlock the Super Easter Egg. Each completion will give the players a piece of the Soul Key.

Once the player has completed all five easter eggs, they must complete The Beast from Beyond's easter egg, The End?, and insert all five pieces of the Soul Key into the "Soul Jar" inside the projector room at the easter eggs conclusion. The player can toggle Director's Cut on or off in the pre-game lobby once unlocked.

Director's Cut Features[]

  • All Candy Perks permanently at the start of each game.
  • 25,000 points are immediately given to the player at the start.
  • All weapons in the Magic Wheel are already first-time Pack-a-Punched.
  • The map's respective wonder weapons can be found inside the Magic Wheel and are also immediately upgraded once.
  • The Alien Fuses are automatically installed into the Pack-a-Punch Machine for the player on all maps, allowing weapons to be Pack-a-Punch'd a second time.
  • The Player can refill their Fate and Fortune deck an unlimited number of times in a match, as opposed to the previously capped 2 refills per match.
  • The Lost and Found no longer costs anything to use, whereas before there was a cost of $2000 to restore the player's loadout upon interaction.

  • Special Talisman Masks will spawn in a certain location on each map, but will only appear on Scene 1. Shooting it before the end of the round will grant the player three songs per map for the player's lobby music selector.

True Ending[]

Director's Cut is the only way for the player to experience the true ending of Infinite Warfare Zombies, and unlocks additional rewards when completed.

Talisman Masks spawn upon picking up a Soul Key piece in Director's Cut, which once picked up will reward the player with a special calling card for the map the Talisman Mask has been acquired in and add a green star next to the maps name in the pre-game lobby. Once players have collected all Talisman Masks and completed The End? a second time, they will be brought to face Mephistopheles, the true final boss of Infinite Warfare Zombies.

Reward[]

Willard Wyler can be played in Zombies in Spaceland once the player has completed all of the easter eggs in Director's Cut and has defeated Mephistopheles by inserting the code: Left, Left, Down, Up, Up, Right with the D-Pad. Completing Sooooul Key as Willard Wyler will also unlock a special animated calling card titled "Willard's Test", featuring Wyler laughing in the sam way as he does in the Rave in the Redwoods intro cutscene.

Call of Duty: WWII[]

Call of Duty: WWII's Super Easter Egg rewards are rewarded upon completion of the "Cold Hearted" challenge, which require the completion of:

Rewards[]

  • Wicht Warden, an undead soldier, as a playable character on all Zombie maps
  • The “Über-Schnalle” Weapon Charm
  • The ability to start a match with a select primary weapon.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War[]

Main article: The Pact

Once players have completed at least two Main Quests in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, a special encounter named "The Pact" will become available on the Zoo Map in Outbreak. The Pact takes the form of a ritual site comprised of six obelisks and an altar. Each obelisk represents one quest that requires completion. When a quest is completed, its respective obelisk will glow purple.

The player can interact with the altar to receive some of the rewards. The sky will darken and an eclipse will occur. The player can return to and interact with the altar to receive additional rewards as they complete more quests.

Every other map in Outbreak includes a Tiger Mask that, once found, will insure that players warp to the Zoo as their next Outbreak Zone. Locations are:

While players may interact with the obelisks as soon as they've completed two quests, certain rewards are only available to players who complete all six quests in Black Ops Cold War.

Black Ops Cold War's' Super Easter Egg was not initially available with the release of Forsaken, it's final map. It did not become available until April 25th, 2022, just over six months later.

Rewards from The Pact[]

Reward for Full Completion[]

  • The player will always start a game with their loadout weapon having either an Uncommon, Rare, or Epic Weapon Rarity depending on the number of quests completed. At least two quests for Uncommon, four quests for Rare, and all six quests for Epic. This can be toggled on and off.
  • A Dark Ops Calling Card called "The Pact" for completing all six quests.
  • A Legendary Watch called "Dark Deeds" for completing all six quests.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 & Black Ops 7[]

During a Developer Talk for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Treyarch Design Director Kevin Drew acknowledged fan demand for a Super Easter Egg for both Black Ops 7 and it's immediate predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. He confirmed that there would not be one for Black Ops 6, but that doing one was "important" to Treyarch. He further elaborated that Treyarch felt that since Black Ops 7 is a continuation of Black Ops 6, it "made a lot of sense that if (they) were going to do one, to do one at the end of this year".[1]
