the map and tactical map HUD icons in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
The tactical map, otherwise known as tac map, is an element of the HUD and a secondary source of navigation in the multiplayer, campaign, co-op, and zombies portions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Call of Duty: Mobile, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Warzone, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
Overview[]
The tac map was first used in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and has since been used in every Cal of Duty past it. Like the Minimap, it shows a birdseye view of a player's position, but works like a GPS and displays all relative info such as the positions of objectives, killstreaks, vehicles, and pings across the entire map. The player can zoom in and out, as well as hover over and click on icons displayed to mark them to see their actual position in the map.
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, The tac map gets reintroduced in spec ops as a simpler version without the zoom, just general info about the entire map.
As of Call of Duty: Warzone, those features have been brought back in addition to a sweep every time the user opens the tac map to hint at where the player's location is.
For Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the tac map was added to Fireteam and zombies modes with full functionality.
In Call of Duty: Vanguard's zombies and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III's; Call of duty: Black Ops 6's campaign, the tac map returns once again with the ability to ping removed.
Trivia[]
