In the coffin dance EE the colors being show is the weapon tier, this is supported by the fact you won't get the ray gun on anything but legendary

What proof is there of the box color being that of the players?
The colors displayed on the Coffin Dance box, as well as the Supply Boxes seen in the Outbreak mode, are identical to the colors seen on the four Reward Stations for trials. The colors on the Reward Station are connected to player whose color corresponds. Poodonkus (talk) 06:05, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
- Due to the fact it also is currently the same as the characters. The reason why is because, as I said we have had conflicting reports. You have only provided evidence from a video who "got it from a Redditor" which said Redditor stated "I THINK" and his own testing flat out bloody stated it wasn't 100% all the time.
