The Task Force Vanguard, officially known as Special Operations Task Force 001, or Task Force One, is a military unit featured in Call of Duty: Vanguard. The task force was formed by Carver Butcher to thwart "Project Phoenix", a project led by Hermann Freisinger to strengthen the remaining Nazi forces and continue the war following the Battle of Berlin and the death of Adolf Hitler.[1] [2]
