Tvelin (Твелин) is a Red Army soldier who appears in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

History

He appears in the mission "Project Nova" commanded by Captain Viktor Reznov, where his team was ordered to find a Nazi doctor, Friedrich Steiner. Once they do, they enter a ship wreckage where they are betrayed by Dragovich after finding some Nova 6 gas, with Dimitri Petrenko, Vikharev, and Belov in one gas chamber, and Tvelin in the second chamber, along with Reznov and Nevski. While those in the first chamber were killed by the gas, Tvelin, Reznov, and Nevski escaped upon the arrival of British Commandos. However, while Reznov and Nevski escaped the wreckage, Tvelin is killed before he could do so.

Trivia

  • Even if he survives until the end, he will not rappel down the rope before the ship blows up.
  • Since some Russians are still fighting at the final stage against the Commandos, Tvelin can be killed by his own former comrades.
  • The player is able to kill Tvelin without penalty (unless British Commandos are killed while considered "Allies").
  • He uses an STG-44; a German rifle, instead of a Mosin-Nagant or PPSh-41, despite both being from his respective faction.
    • In the Wii version, Tvelin does carry a PPSH-41, but in all other versions he carries his signature STG-44.
  • He was not seen until he was thrown into the gas chamber.
