The Urzikstan Liberation Force (ULF) or Urzik Militia is a resistance militia organization based in Urzikstan featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The ULF is led by Farah Karim, one of the protagonists of the story.

History[]

Formation[]

Formed in response to the occupation of the country by Russia, the Urzikstan Liberation Force roughly consists of a group of over 7,000 volunteer freedom fighters who are determined to free their country from foreign subjugation and to combat the domestic terrorist organization known as Al Qatala. To accomplish their goals, the ULF would often fight alongside and receive support from both the United Kingdom and the United States. On October 30, 2019, the United States listed the ULF as a terrorist organization due to suspicion of harboring chemical weapons. The ULF in response cuts ties with the West except for the United Kingdom.

The Russian government condemns the Liberation Force as a terrorist organization, due to their continued resistance to the occupation. Russian occupation forces in Urzikstan have been directed by General Roman Barkov to make no distinction between Al-Qatala terrorists and the liberation forces directly under Karim's command.

Stealing Barkov's gas[]

On October 24th, 2019, Hadir Karim, the ULF's combat lieutenant disguised himself as Al-Qatala fighters alongside other ULF fighters to steal General Barkov's gas. After they engaged the convoy, one of the ULF fighters realized that the soldiers they had just killed were not Russians, but rather, Americans. This prompted Hadir to retreat alongside the ULF fighters and Barkov's gas, leaving one American soldier alive.

Destracting Barkov's forces[]

On October 26th, 2019, Farah Karim alongside CIA-SAD Operation Officer Alex Keller went on a mission to destroy two helicopters, to lure Barkov's forces from the Al-Raab Airbase. The attack was a success, as Barkov's force reinforced the site where the destruction happened, as such, lowering the amount of personnel to defend the Al-Raab Airbase.

Attack on Al-Raab Airbase[]

After 3 hours and 30 minutes from their distraction attack. The ULF launched an attack on Al-Raab Airbase, where they quickly overwhelmed the unprepared soldiers stationed there and managed to secure the entire base. However, reinforcements from Barkov's force soon arrived, when it seemed that the ULF was about to be boxed in and eliminated, the unmarked AH-64 Apache that Alex Keller called in prior arrived, with Alex's control, the helicopter destroyed the reinforcing Barkov's forces, forcing them to retreat and thus, securing a victory for the ULF.

Aiding the Demon Dogs[]

On October 28th, 2019, Farah Karim and Hadir Karim aided the Demon Dogs in capturing The Wolf.

Defending the Embassy[]

Hours after capturing The Wolf at the Rammaza hospital, the Butcher rallied the Al-Qatala forces to siege the US Embassy, demanding that the Wolf should be handed over. Upon learning that extraction was only minutes away, the Wolf remarked that his people would be inside the embassy in the allotted time. After Al-Qatala forces breach the perimeter, Alex Keller, Farah Karim, and Hadir Karim move the Wolf to the embassy's basement safe room.

After fighting through the Al-Qatala forces who breached the embassy via trucks, Captain John Price alongside Sergeant Kyle "Gaz" Garrick linked up with Farah Karim, Alex Keller, and Hadir Karim. Price ordered Garrick to direct the Ambassador to their location as they needed his keycard to open the rear doors and escape. However, the Ambassador is gunned down by an Al-Qatala insurgent as he attempts to lock his office door. Garrick instead directed the Ambassador's assistant, Stacy Davidson to the team's position.

The team escaped from the embassy and began their advance to the Ambassador's compound. Once they arrive, they put the Wolf in the residence's safe room as Price requests air support from Laswell and she sends a UAV to assist them. The team took their defensive positions up, utilizing mortars with illumination rounds as well as a drone provided by Laswell to eliminate the substantial numbers of Al-Qatala fighters. Ultimately, Al-Qatala managed to breach through the Ambassador's residence and secure the Wolf, extracting him.

Highway of Death[]

Following The Wolf's escape from the embassy. Farah Karim immediately mobilized her forces and they brought everything they'd got. The group consisting of Captain John Price, Sergeant Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, Alex Keller, Hadir Karim, and Farah Karim now split into two teams to search for The Wolf. Price and Garrick along with team Bravo and a section of the ULF would clear house to house in search of the Al-Qatala leader under the assumption that terrorist cells in the city would hide them. Alex Keller, Farah Karim, Hadir Karim, and another section of the ULF would prepare for an ambush at the Highway of Death, in case The Wolf tried to flee to the mountains.

They managed to repeal Al-Qatala forces at first. However, Barkov's forces later came in an attempt to eliminate Al-Qatala alongside the ULF and to retake control of Urizkstan. Outnumbered and outgunned, Hadir Karim decided to use the gas that he had stolen from Barkov before to turn the tide, which he successfully did. This angered Farah, however, she couldn't do anything, as Hadir had already fled.

The Wolf's Den[]

On October 29th, 2019, Farah Karim participated in the raid on The Wolf's Den alongside the SAS and CIA. There, she went along with Alex Keller, helping him navigate through the series of tunnels to locate The Wolf while also confronting Hadir Karim. Once the two reached The Wolf and eliminated him, Farah helped Alex defuse the bomb vest on him. Which allowed the SAS to bag his body and bring it back.

As Farah returned to base alongside the rest of the team. She was shocked to hear the news that the United States had designated her force as a terrorist force. This motion also angered the rest of the team, with Alex Keller deciding to follow the ULF alongside Price reassuring her that it's not over yet.

Georgia[]

On November 3rd, 2019, Farah Karim alongside the ULF participated in the attack on Barkov's gas factory in Georgia.

When the ULF reached the entry of the factory, Alex and Farah chose to fight through the factory to rendezvous with Nikolai, while Price and Garrick advanced to the pipeline. Inside the factory, the team fought another wave of Barkov's forces and reached the parking lot, where Nikolai was waiting with the charges. Upon reaching Nikolai, he gave Alex and the militia the charges to blow up the factory. When Farah asked Nikolai why he was helping them, he remarked that Barkov was a stain on his country.

After taking the charges, the team went back into the factory to plant it. They are ambushed by more of Barkov's men, killing some of the militia. However, Alex manages to take them out. The team moved away from the turbine room but, as Alex was about to open the door, a Juggernaut blasted open the door, causing Alex to be thrown back and damage the detonator. Facing the juggernaut, Alex has to get around the turbine room to flank him, eventually killing him. The team advanced towards the furnace to plant the charge.

After reaching the furnace, Alex tells Farah about the malfunctioning detonator. Both of them then argued with each other, as to who would make the ultimate sacrifice to blow up the furnace. After a short while of arguing, Farh allowed Alex to go in to blow up the furnace. As he entered the furnace, Farah walked away, finding a way to sneak onto Barkov's helicopter. Once she is in, she injures the rouge General, before pushing him down, killing him.

Helping Captain Price[]

On November 1st, 2022, the Urzikstan Liberation Force and Farah Karim helped Captain Price rescue Kate Laswell from Al-Qatala's hand.

Makarov's Revenge[]

Following Vladimir Makarov's breakout on November 10th, 2023. The port of Urzikstan was attacked by Konni contractors, with their main goal being to take the shipment of American missiles that the Urzikstan Liberation Force received from Shadow Company. This forced Farah Karim alongside Alex Keller and other ULF fighters presented at the port to fight back, to prevent Konni from taking the missile containers. Despite their effort, Konni managed to accomplish their objective by taking the three containers of American missiles that were at the port. However, Farah Karim managed to plant the trackers on the missile containers, allowing her force to track them.
