Welcome to the wiki!Edit

Sandman MW3 Welcome Template

Hello Captainmad, and welcome to the Call of Duty Wiki! Thanks for your contributions. We hope you'll stick around to make even more!

Have you created your user page yet? It's your own personal page, and you can do anything you want with it! Your user page will also help us get to know you as an editor better.

Here are some links that you may find helpful:

  • Recent changes provides you with a list of pages that other users are currently editing, which might give you an idea of where you can help out.
  • The help pages are a resource for you to use if you are new to wikis or need a guide for editing.
  • The forums are a good place to ask any questions you may have, or start your own discussion.
  • The Call of Duty Wiki's policies and guidelines are some rules for you to follow, and will also help you make better contributions.

Still have questions? Feel free to ask me or contact another administrator. Sysops' names are highlighted in green and bureaucrats' names are highlighted in cyan.

We hope you enjoy editing here, and look forward to seeing you around!

Recent imageEdit

Hi. Your recent image "Mercs logo.JPG" was deleted as it did not conform to our image policy. It was both badly named and incorrectly licensed. When uploading in the future please ensure to follow the naming and licensing rules as seen on the policy page, failure to do so may lead up to a block if enough warnings are given. If you need any more help on image uploading feel free to ask myself or anyone on the Custodian team or Sysop team. Thanks. 05:49, November 17, 2013 (UTC)

  • Incorrect
  • Contained poor English
  • Did not conform to Wiki policies
  • Unnecessary
  • Concerned real life info, which is not generally allowed
  • Contained speculation, which is not generally allowed
  • Opinionated
  • Featured a formatting error

Please read the Manual of Style and the policies in order to brush up on the style and professionalism that is expected on this wiki.
You are still free to make edits; however, please make sure they are up to standards!
Thanks!

You are adding untrivial information. Please do not revert edits that remove it. 01:37, March 4, 2014 (UTC)

Non-trivialEdit

Hey Captainmed, thank you for editing, but um, none of those points are trivial. Otherwise we'd have "Captain Price is the first British captain to work with Yuri" and such things. It's idle fact rather than a trivia point. :D

Thanks for reading - gaz me if there's anything you need!

Bridge in Detour Edit

the vehicles in the map being shared with cordis die does make it bare elements from the mission, so i wont undo the edit again, however "a bridge is a bridge" is incorrect. thats like saying it shares elements from Into the Heartland just because they both have a bridge, or with Mob of the Dead because they both have similar bridges. RisingSun2013 01:49, June 16, 2014 (UTC)

i see, you're right. i was wrong about that. but thanks for understanding my point. -Captainmad (talk)
no problem. also, you should reply to talk page posts on the talk page of the person who is talking to you so it notifies them of the message. RisingSun2013 01:56, June 16, 2014 (UTC)

Please look up general policies regarding the information you add, such as COD:TRIVIA. Telling us to "Just keep this one" won't sway anything when the information you're adding is in no way trivial. 20:47, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Mercs Edit

Look, I didn't say the Mercs were of that ethnicity. It was already there to begin with. You're the one that proposed they were Australian, so YOU have to provide a source for that. Otherwise, it will stay as-is. Didikins (talk) 04:25, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

Please tone down the language a little bit, pal. Remember to Assume Good Faith with the other members. Hostility towards others is very hurtful. Didikins (talk) 04:40, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

Don't delete discussions Edit

Hello, Captainmad. It has come to my attention that you have recently deleted part or all of the text on a talk page, that was not vandalism. This is a violation of one the policies on the wiki, seen here, in which you can not delete discussions from a talk page with exception of obvious vandalism, flaming, or spam. If you would like to archive your talk page, please ask an administrator. If you continue to delete discussions off talk pages, you will eventually be subject to a block. Thank you for understanding, have a nice day!

Edit Warring Edit

Please stop constantly getting into arguments and edit wars over the content on pages. If you really believe that your edits are correct that strongly, bring the issue up with an admin instead of cluttering up the Recient Edits with an edit war. Thank you. Iron Lady Edit

Just because there is a mistake in a level does not mean that we need to have a trivia point about it. Besides, characters' voices sounding like they come through the radio when they're right by the player happens enough in the series that it isn't trivial. It stays removed. Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 03:36, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

It is my no means a "major mistake" it's just a voice sounding slightly different. It's a few lines of dialogue that sound slighly off. Not notible at all. Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 21:37, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

For the record Edit

"[It's] better this way" isn't actually a valid rationale for making a change to the wiki in and of itself. 9G3sis0.pngRaven's wing Talk22:08, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
