The problem was the name, and it still was, as it needs a personal file name, which you can find out what I mean on the rules page. I believe the image was deleted again. GhKJh.pngP90DeathmanuceaHlB.png21:27, August 15, 2013 (UTC)

Remington, real lifeEdit

Look, I know it's an appealing fact and all, but unless the weapon's date of manufacture is stated ingame (as is the case of the Model 1887), adding that particular fact is directly against COD:IRL. If its appearance in Origins actually states its date of manufacture, then feel free to add that fact in. But until, it's a direct violation of a policy and therefore is not allowed.

Thank You! PootisPlatoon (talk) 17:53, August 19, 2013 (UTC)

I mean, don't add the STG-44 to the weapons list on the Origins page. It's been done several times already without any source. It appears in the opening cutscene, but it's unconfirmed to appear in-game, therefore it should not be added to the list. Executioner Menu Icon BOIIAugFC Talk Page 22:52, August 21, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, I'm a wikia contributor for the zombies storyline page, and I don't appreciate you always changing it back to what it was.

References Edit

If you'll forgive my use of the Slippery Slop fallacy, next you'll be saying we have to call the B23R a reference to the Auto-9 from the Robocop series purely on the grounds of both being modified Beretta 93Rs with extended barrels. 9G3sis0.pngRaven's wing Talk22:16, October 6, 2013 (UTC)

RE:SignaturesEdit

Any user can have a personalised signature, as long as it falls under all the requirements of our signature policy. You can either make one yourself if you have the know how, or you can ask another user to make one for you if you're unsure of how to make one. Also I do not know what you mean by "And why Scoots?". 23:57, October 10, 2013 (UTC)

"I don't understand your logic" Edit

It's called the Burden of Proof. In this case the burden of proof is on you to prove what you are saying is correct. 9G3sis0.pngRaven's wing Talk19:57, November 30, 2013 (UTC)

RE:Russo-Sino warEdit

Because the war is only mentioned by the fact one character was present in one conflict that occurred. It's not really enough information to warrant a page. 23:41, December 7, 2013 (UTC)

" For example, most of the "AK-47"s aren't AK-47s and so is M16" Edit

The M16 is a whole series of weapons from the original Colt Model 601 to the present Model 945. "AK-47" is as much a generic term for any weapon patterned after the original Soviet Avtomat Kalashnikova. "M27 IAR" refers to a specific variant of the HK416 series, that the Black Ops II M27 is not. 9G3sis0.pngRaven's wing Talk22:13, January 14, 2014 (UTC)

You do realise that comparison with the AK-74u kind of negates your argument, right? Since it's an admission that the devs make mistakes with names and classifications, and thus means they may have been mistaken in calling the M27 that when it's in no way similar to the actual M27? 9G3sis0.pngRaven's wing Talk22:31, January 14, 2014 (UTC)

Recent imageEdit

Hi. Your recent image "Kravchenko flick off.jpeg" was deleted as it did not conform to our image policy. It was both badly named and incorrectly licensed. When uploading in the future please ensure to follow the naming and licensing rules as seen on the policy page, failure to do so may lead up to a block if enough warnings are given. If you need any more help on image uploading feel free to ask myself, anyone on the Custodian team or Sysop team. Thanks. 05:56, February 27, 2014 (UTC)

Community NewsletterEdit

Wiki-wordmark

Wiki Community Newsletter for Saturday, March 1st

The newsletter will focus on changes to the wiki within the last month and a few notifications for users as well!

What happened last month?
Edit

  • Hyperborrean22 suggested we remove opinion blogs from the front page and allow anyone to create them, not just News Team members. After a very longwinded discussion between him and Sam, it was deemed the proposal was in bad faith. Forum:Opnion blogs (Opened 15:50, February 16, 2014; closed 17:39, February 20, 2014)
  • Kylet357 noticed that the wiki's official YouTube channel has been inactive and only lightly used, and suggested we put it to better use by asking for improvement ideas. Several good ideas were brought up, such as level walkthroughs and partnerships with existing YouTubers, but in the end it was decided that there exists too much competition for the channel to thrive and not enough user interest in putting effort into the videos. Forum:CoD Wiki YT Channel (Opened 02:15, December 1, 2013; closed 16:30, February 25, 2014)
  • Egon Eagle suggested a new section in mainspace articles for references to the CoD series in popular culture and cited a few examples. The forum received little attention, but after two weeks was closed with the unanimous dicision that those references should remain in the trivia section. Forum:Call of Duty in popular culture (Opened 16:07, February 13, 2014; closed 22:39, February 27, 2014)
  • Verantha was voted February's Featured User! She was previously Featured User in January of 2012. A warm congratulations and big thanks to her for her admirably consistent additions to mainspace articles.

What's happening this month?
Edit

  • Call of Duty Wiki:Articles for Deletion has several articles nominated, so please consider dropping by and providing some valuable feedback.
  • Call of Duty Wiki:Requested Improvement Drive Articles is an ongoing project to improve the articles that desperately need it. Argo and many other users put a lot of hard work into it and it would be greatly appreciated if you could help out!
  • Kat has suggested we change the skin of the wiki to something less dark, and has provided a mockup. Some other possible avenues of change have been brought up as well. Forum:Wiki skin revamp
  • Sam noticed a section at the bottom of some pages labeled "Must Watch Videos" that closely resembles the "Related Videos" feature we chose to disable some time ago. After the issue was raised, we all noticed that it only appears every so often. Forum:Must Watch Videos
  • Callofduty4 and Sam have together proposed that we do away with our leaked information policy on the grounds that: it severely limites our ability to post relevant information that would draw viewership; Activision has never asked any other large site to stop posting leaked info like we do, which is unfair and unwarranted; and since we have received no reply from Activision after repeated attempts to clear things up, it's about time we took things into our own hands. It has also been suggested by others that we contact Wikia staff for their take on the situation. Forum:Retiring COD:LEAK
  • AntiScootaTwo has suggested we either allow low-quality Ghosts images to be put into mainspace articles, or start a new image project to combat the amount of Ghosts weapon pages sorely in need of images. The main issue is the lack of editors that own the PC copy or a capture card. Forum:Ghosts Weapon images
  • Sam has lamented that the trivia sections of many articles have become long and filled with untrivial information, and some possible improvements are being discussed. Forum:Regarding trivia sections
  • Damac feels that the recent decline in the quality of news articles has led to decreased readership, and has asked for suggestions for improvement. Prominent ideas so far include more professionalism and a link to this forum. Forum:Quality of News
  • Kylet357 thought it might be necessary to have a new category for satire blogs, but after some reconsideration has changed his proposal to a "non-serious" category. Forum:Satire Category for Blogs

No Real Life InfoEdit

Hi, and welcome to the Call of Duty Wiki! There's a lot to do around here.
We really appreciate your contributions here, but we have a no IRL, or no "In Real Life" policy. IRL pictures are also not allowed in articles but they are allowed for personal use.
If you have any concerns feel free to ask at the Help desk or on the "discussion" page associated with each article, or post a message on my talk page! Also, please review our policies so that you understand them completely to avoid any future mistakes.
If you have any other questions, feel free to contact an administrator for help. Sysops names are represented in green and bureaucrats names are represented in cyan. Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything!

RE:Edit

Well, somebody has to ensure that pages have high-quality images. :P Plus there's a certain catharsis in going through game files; one never knows what one will find!

Also, hello on the BioShock Wiki! I never normally notice talk page message notifications, sorry. :S
