Sandman MW3 Welcome Template

Hello Gunman6, and welcome to the Call of Duty Wiki! Thanks for your contributions. We hope you'll stick around to make even more!

Have you created your user page yet? It's your own personal page, and you can do anything you want with it! Your user page will also help us get to know you as an editor better.

Here are some links that you may find helpful:

  • Recent changes provides you with a list of pages that other users are currently editing, which might give you an idea of where you can help out.
  • The help pages are a resource for you to use if you are new to wikis or need a guide for editing.
  • The forums are a good place to ask any questions you may have, or start your own discussion.
  • The Call of Duty Wiki's policies and guidelines are some rules for you to follow, and will also help you make better contributions.

Still have questions? Feel free to ask me or contact another administrator. Sysops' names are highlighted in green and bureaucrats' names are highlighted in cyan.

We hope you enjoy editing here, and look forward to seeing you around!

Forums Edit

Please do not ignore clearly posted instructions on forums. There is a message at the top of the page that reads as follows:

Don't delete discussions Edit

Hello, Gunman6. It has come to my attention that you have recently deleted part or all of the text on a talk page, that was not vandalism. This is a violation of one the policies on the wiki, seen here, in which you can not delete discussions from a talk page with exception of obvious vandalism, flaming, or spam. If you would like to archive your talk page, please ask an administrator. If you continue to delete discussions off talk pages, you will eventually be subject to a block. Thank you for understanding, have a nice day!

Emails Edit

Those are something that can be disabled on Special:Preferences. You don't have to get your account nuked to stop getting them. 9G3sis0.pngRaven's wing Talk21:52, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

Please just nuke me and get it over with. I don't want to have a profile set up here anymore.Gunman6 (talk) 22:13, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

We can't locally disable your account, you would have to contact Wikia if you want to disable your account. Also your inquiry was put in the wrong place. The War Room is for discussing changes to the Wiki, not for asking for help. If you did want help you should of used the Help desk, Actors can be found on characters respective pages, but even then images of their voice actors are unneeded on the characters page. 04:38, July 20, 2013 (UTC)

Welcome to the Call of Duty Wiki. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions here, at least one of your recent edits did not appear to be constructive, and has been reverted. Vandalism includes, but is not limited to:

Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and I strongly urge you to read the policy page to learn more about contributing constructively to this wiki. Not every character in the Call of Duty series bears their resemblance with the voice actor. As such when they do it is considered good trivia. 02:40, November 23, 2013 (UTC)
That is your opinion. Again, motion capture was used for Jason C. Franks, Tony Todd, Benitio Martinez and Celestin Cornelle among others, including stuntmen so he bears a resemblance because he did in fact motion-capture his face. This is not vandalism when it's an actual fact that you disagree with.
Stop making it subjective when it's an opinion and no one agreed to have it on that page.Gunman6 (talk) 02:44, November 23, 2013 (UTC)
Video source: seen here. Gunman6 (talk) 02:46, November 23, 2013 (UTC)
How is it an opinion to claim a 'fact that not all characters are based on their voice actors. Furthermore no one "agreed" for you to remove it. Your edit has been reverted by myself and another users, further supplementing it is a valid trivial point. And your video source proves nothing, there still exists the fact that they based his model on his voice actor, which if anything simply strengthens the point, not weakens it. 02:48, November 23, 2013 (UTC)
Again, I have acknowledged that SOME characters weren't motion captured but it is a fact that most of them were. Some performers simply did the motion while others did the voice and if you actually saw the video, it shows various people who were motion captured which opens up the fact that many others including Ice Cube and Avenged Sevenfold were motion captured.
Are they in the video? No but the video did make it clear that various people were scanned into the computer system.
When I say "agree," I am referring to no one else having an issue with the voice & motion capture which you disagreed with.
And, let's say that in the end, Hong was one of the few who just so happened to not have his face be motion captured. That still welcomes more gratuitous subjectiveness so it is best to not list it at all until any other sources are found and cited. To say "he looks like the performer" comes off as opinionated so it also have sloppy wording.
It also does nothing for the article when other non-real life figures aren't listing comparisons between the person and their performer.Gunman6 (talk) 03:00, November 23, 2013 (UTC)

Edit summaryEdit

Please refrain from using edit summaries such as "Thanks for being unhelpful", it is a violation of COD:DBAD. 03:05, November 23, 2013 (UTC)
I will refrain but I want you to stop protecting pages when there's two other sources that confirm that Briggs was facially and motion captured by Tony Todd both here:  and here:  Gunman6 (talk) 03:13, November 23, 2013 (UTC)

IMBD is not a correct source. To add, we have it as trivial, not on the soldierbox for the page. So if you feel to add it there feel free. But until then I'll continue to undo it because it is incorrect. --Personal AndImBatman Sig imageBats a.k.a Rarity Filly  03:59, November 23, 2013 (UTC)

Where did I cite IMDb and the source is here  and here: .

Actually watch them before making judgment. It's the same source used for Salazar as played by Celestin Cornielle.--Gunman6 (talk) 04:12, November 23, 2013 (UTC)

Foul Language on Chat Edit

As long as it's not excessive, foul language is allowed on chat. However, we do not allow the N-Word under any circumstance that is not a quote from a song or TV show. We also do not allow use of "Gay" as a deragatory term, only for discussion. "Faggot", or any derivative of said word, is generally discouraged because it is seen as inherently offensive. All other curses are pretty much allowed, as long as the cursing isn't excessive or being used to attack another user. Also spamming of curses is, of course, not allowed.

I hope this cleared up our policies regarding cursing on chat to you, as you seemed confused when you recently joined. KUDLq.png 07:53, December 2, 2013 (UTC)

That particular instance just seemed gratuitous as it was aimed at a country.--Gunman6 (talk) 07:58, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
Quebec is a province of Canada, not a country. Also, Kat is from Canada and was making a joke about the province. I can see how it could be taken the wrong way without context, but with context Kat did nothing wrong. KUDLq.png 08:06, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
Quebec sucks. And as a tax paying Canadian citizen I have every right to say so. KλT 08:05, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
How does that pertain to the Wikia itself in any way, shape or form? It has nothing remotely to do with Call of Duty.Gunman6 (talk) 08:08, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
The chat is not strictly Call of Duty related. User are free to talk about whatever they want, whenever they want. The same goes for talk pages. KUDLq.png 08:10, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
I don't understand the point of talking about unrelated material on a wikia but that apparently is very popular here so I won't discuss it anymore.Gunman6 (talk) 08:14, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
You seem irritated, so I would like to point out I am not trying to irritate you. I am genuinely trying to help you to understand how the wikia works. On that specific topic, the wiki is divided into two section basically. The Wiki and the Community. "The Wiki" is everything Call of Duty related. Articles, Photos, Videos, Article Talk Pages, and Newsblogs. They all have to be related to Call of Duty to be allowed on the wiki. The community however is seperate, and acts just like any kind of Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Etc.). Userpages, User Talk Pages, Chat, IRC, and Community News Blogs are all social aspects of the wiki, and thus don't necesarrily have to be about Call of Duty. they are just for the community to get to know each other and build relationships, just like any socal media. The only place where the line is blurred is with USer Blogs. They are community spaces, but have to relate to Call of Duty or at least the wiki. Blogs cannot be off-topic. KUDLq.png 08:20, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
I get most of that but previous Wikia chats I've been on have often strived to stay on topic and I've seen other admins threaten to remove others should they make just one simple bad joke or excessive profanity so apparently that's not an issue being a gaming wikia and all.
My tone is coming off as irritated because my statement got misinterpreted as an insult and now I don't want to be on here anymore if people are going to continue to name-call me.Gunman6 (talk) 08:27, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
This goes into another policy of the wiki's COD:NOT. We are nto other wikis. We run ourselves the way we run ourselves, and other wikis run themselves the way they want to run themselves. We do not have to use the same rules as say, The Hunger Games wiki. And I'm sorry you feel that way. No one is trying to attack you. KUDLq.png 08:34, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, that actually does mean a lot.Gunman6 (talk) 17:30, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
