Yes, it's for temporary until good caps can be taken later. Also, I'd like to apologize infinitely for not responding to the previous messages on this page; I really didn't know how to insert the template for copyright/fair use until recently. I'll rename any subsequently uploaded images, and once again, no problems from here on. Louis Bancroft (talk) 01:45, August 15, 2014 (UTC)
Another question. What exactly do you mean by temporary? Like until another image is uploaded or what? bionicle__unity_duty_destiny_by_cyberpictures-d6p3li2.pngLegos-Rule-15 Talk 01:47, August 15, 2014 (UTC)
Well, yes. A temporary pic that gives a full body view of the weapon that's otherwise usable until either better pics or official stills are released, or even until launch. Until then, they're temporary pics in that case. Louis Bancroft (talk) 01:51, August 15, 2014 (UTC)
Well... I think it would be better if you do side view rather than temp. One, temp isn't the best thing for an image name, two, those images are of great quality, and are worth having on the wiki. bionicle__unity_duty_destiny_by_cyberpictures-d6p3li2.pngLegos-Rule-15 Talk 01:54, August 15, 2014 (UTC)

RE: KF5 Edit

Hey there. It is important to directly license your image (and give it an appropriate name) while you are uploading it, not after. Although personally, I don't appreciate the fact that some good images are being deleted just because they lack a proper license or name (when any user can correct the former, and custodians/admins can change the latter), but that's the way the wiki works. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 21:09, August 15, 2014 (UTC)

This is the worst day I decided to upload images, eh? Louis Bancroft (talk) 21:11, August 15, 2014 (UTC)

To be honest, it's also a bad time generally. During new game reveals we sort of battern down the hatches on image policy. Since it's when we get the biggest influx of new images, and not everyone reads the policy. I thank you for actually trying though. 21:15, August 15, 2014 (UTC)
Gotcha. My biggest objective this year is to contribute as much as I possibly can since I got a cap card to record gameplay and take snaps, as well as to generally maintain the wiki. Louis Bancroft (talk) 21:19, August 15, 2014 (UTC)

Duplicate Images Edit

Hey Louis, recently, you uploaded a couple duplicate images, which is a against the image policy. When uploading images in the future, please remember to check if the images your uploading have actually already been uploaded. Don't take this as a warning, just as a reminder not to do it. All of the images your uploading are fantastic, so, keep it up. Capt. Miller 00:23, September 26, 2014 (UTC)

Well, it usually informs me whenever I'm uploading a clone. Which images were duplicates? Also, thanks for noticing. I really do aim to provide quality pics. Just wait until AW releases. Louis Bancroft (talk) 01:16, September 26, 2014 (UTC)

Ghosts AchievementsEdit

Please stop removing the icons from the page when you add your images. Instead, add your images to a gallery. Thanks. bionicle__unity_duty_destiny_by_cyberpictures-d6p3li2.pngLegos-Rule-15 Talk 01:56, September 27, 2014 (UTC)

To a gallery where, exactly? If you read the message I left on CrazySam10's page, you can see what I'm attempting. Adding a gallery to the page with just one image seems a bit odd. Or better yet, just put the icons in a gallery, yes? Louis Bancroft (talk) 02:00, September 27, 2014 (UTC)

There is no message regarding that on Sam's talk page. And since we currently use the achievement icons in the infobox, that is how it stays for now. If you would like to start a War Room forum regarding the topic, it would be fine to do so. However, unless that happens and is passed, the icon will stay in the infobox, and the XBOX image will need to be placed in a gallery. bionicle__unity_duty_destiny_by_cyberpictures-d6p3li2.pngLegos-Rule-15 Talk 02:05, September 27, 2014 (UTC)
Gotcha; will start a topic in the war room. And I had them confused; it was actually Capt. Miller's page where I left the message. Louis Bancroft (talk) 02:09, September 27, 2014 (UTC)
Okay then. Honestly, I think it may look better to use those images as well, however, since it's how we've done it for a while, and Ghosts is the first game that introduced those achievement images, we have to stick with the icons for now. bionicle__unity_duty_destiny_by_cyberpictures-d6p3li2.pngLegos-Rule-15 Talk 02:13, September 27, 2014 (UTC)

RE:New approach to categorizing achievements Edit

Sorry for the REALLY late reply, but I think you should just add the images to the gallery if there is already an icon in the infobpx. Also, try to make sure that the images you upload are duplicates. If there isn't any icon, then, I think there shouldn't be any problem in uploading them. Capt. Miller 01:42, October 2, 2014 (UTC)

Delete templateEdit

The template you keep adding the the SAC3 page is for if the article has an AfD up, which it doesn't. If you do have questions about the page though, it would probably be best to leave them on the respective talk page. 4XBy83R.pngAntiScootaTwotalk  18:27, October 3, 2014 (UTC)

Try custodian Edit

Hey man, I see you're doing good work in images and galleries. If you'd like to, you can join the Custodians user group so that you become able to rename (or delete) images. This would be useful to you in situations like this; you can fill a request on this page. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 15:44, October 11, 2014 (UTC)

SAC3 page editsEdit

Unless if you are making an AfD for the article in question, there is no reason to be placing the Delete template on articles (which currently don't have AfDs up). I was also wondering where you got the info that the weapon is normally single-wielded, as all media I saw the weapon in was dual-wielded. This would be useful in determining if the article should be split or not, but until then we are just going off of assumptions with no sources. 4XBy83R.pngAntiScootaTwotalk  21:59, October 23, 2014 (UTC)

RE:AFDEdit

Per COD:NAME I would keep the Vector and SAC3 as separate pages, so it would be redundant for me to make an AFD for something I'd oppose doing. 15:28, October 26, 2014 (UTC)

VTOLs Edit

Hi,

Can you please tell me the difference between the VTOL and Razorback VTOL? I'm curious as they look the same to me.

Best regards,

Slow Reader (talk) :) 14:24, October 27, 2014 (UTC)

Razorback is the helicopter-like vehicle with twin jet engines as opposed to rotors. VTOL is the helicopter with twin ducted fan rotors that is far more versatile. (Photographic Warfare) Atlas Trooper AW 15:13, October 27, 2014 (UTC)

PNG Edit

Hey, when uploading images, please make sure that they have the .png extension, not .jpg; thus, you might have to convert them when necessary. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 17:19, November 1, 2014 (UTC)

Image movesEdit

Can I please ask why you have move a bunch of images away from their correct name to an incorrect one? Furthermore, you didn't suppress the redirect when doing so. 18:10, November 3, 2014 (UTC)

Currently replacing all of these images. Also, it's a hassle to type "Achievement Image XBOX One CoDAW"  fifty times when you're saving photos. (Photographic Warfare) Atlas Trooper AW 18:43, November 3, 2014 (UTC)

Why not copy and paste? I named them like that for a particular reason - so that they are identifiable. Plus you can just click upload a new version which doesn't require to type in the image name - it will be taken from the current image file. Iw5 cardicon soap Capt. Soap Shadow · Talk  18:48, November 3, 2014 (UTC)

When you're uploading anew version of the file it can be named anything you want, the base file name will not change. You still went out of your way to rename a bunch of files incorrectly. Furthermore, your signature is against policy. It needs to state your username in the link, and the image has to be 30px or smaller, please refer to COD:SIG. 20:35, November 3, 2014 (UTC)

Image Naming Edit

when naming image, please put the initials of the game the item in the image is from in the name of the image (example: [File Name]_[Game Initials]_[File Extension]). thank you. Moving and Renaming ImagesEdit

When moving images, can you make sure, that you untick the "leave a redirect behind" box, because when moving images, you shouldn't leave redirects behind, which is what you did. Also when you renamed the images which had BOIII at the end, to BO3 was incorrect, the correct ending for Black Ops III images is BOIII. RooTm3q.png Soap Shadow · Talk  00:45, June 19, 2015 (UTC)

Weapon menu images Edit

Could you tell me why you are uploading lower quality versions of existing images? -- laagone (talk)  02:45, December 24, 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, hi there. I'm aware that these may be of lower quality, as they're screenshots captured via console from the Data Vault in campaign. However, you've got to know that there's a pretty severe lack of clear images of these weapons. Images featuring flavor text and multiplayer stats in them aren't fit for display. By Sunday, I'll have 1080p pictures of the weapons. Besides, the Data Vault photo of the Pharo is genuinely the only photo of this gun that features it in its entirety. Otherwise, i dunno. Hang in there. (Obsessed with Images) 03:14, December 24, 2015 (UTC)

Very well. I figured that if the stats or flavor text are in the way, they could be cropped rather than uploading a noticeably more blurry image as a replacement. Also, on another note, please note that mainspace pages aren't to be deleted by custodians even if you have the capability for it (as noted on COD:CUSTODIAN). -- laagone (talk)  20:18, December 25, 2015 (UTC)

As for the whole deleted pages thing, it's much easier to just put two variants of the same thing on the same page, therefore just being tidier. It's like if we had two different pages for the XS1 Goliath and the AST. The Talons seen in campaign belong on the same page for the two campaign and one multiplayer variants. This corresponds to the ASP pages too. The ASPs have both cannon and missile-launching variants, but they don't need separate pages. Oh, and merry Christmas! --Louis Bancroft 20:29, December 25, 2015 (UTC)

I get that, but my point is that custodians should never delete pages on mainspace, even if it's something that should obviously be deleted (e.g. vandalism or spam): to quote, "There is currently a bug that allows Custodians to delete pages on other spaces. Please do not abuse this right by deleting pages that are out of filespace regardless of their content as doing so will merit an expulsion from the group.". And Merry Christmas to you as well. -- laagone (talk)  20:33, December 25, 2015 (UTC)

Hi. The camo images you're uploading are fine. But could you please use "[Gun name] gunsmith model [camo] BO3" instead of just the name and camo? This is mainly because the latter naming system is used for first person images. 18:42, February 3, 2016 (UTC)

RE:ImagesEdit

I am doing my best to get hold of camo/attachment images. However at times work gets in the way, so I end up with the iamges saved, but forget to get round to doing them (or someone else does them, and I lose a lot of drive for actually doing them). I currently have a good few images lined up for the ICR-1 (since I got gold on it), and for the others I can get in custom game. I'll do what I can to get some images up, but as I said, sometimes other factors slow me down a bit. 15:18, February 10, 2016 (UTC)
Just to add on, since I was looking over the ICR-1 page. first person images take priority over the gunsmith ones for camos/attachments, since the galleries are for people to see how the things look on the weapon when equipped. The Gunsmith images are still good quality, and work as perfect place holders (and may be helpful for attachments if they are out of view in first person) but they come second to first person images. We may still find use for them though, which is why I want them using a different name, so we don't upload over them. That being said, you're doing good work, so keep it up. 19:00, February 15, 2016 (UTC)

Collectibles AnalysisEdit

Hey, I'm a new user of the wiki but have been browsing for a while and I have noticed your work around the wiki quite a bit. I appreciate the work you do, as do many of the other users of the wiki, I am sure; but I wanted to inquire about something: A few eeks back you were doing a bunch of articles listing out the descriptions of the collectibles in Black Ops 3. I was very interested in the descriptions as they contained details regarding the technology of the world of Black Ops 3, in particular the description of the Replica Nano-Drone explained exactly how the Fireflies worked. I've noticed you haven't done one of these articles in a while. I do not have the game handy, but would like to read more on the collectibles. Sdaerf (talk) 07:16, February 15, 2016 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply; I have two entire albums of images. One of them is full of screen captures of the actual profile photos of the collectibles, and the other is full of screenshots of actual Data Vault text that I copy to the pages. I'll work on them more. Thanks. Smiley face. Louis Bancroft 11:56, February 25, 2016 (UTC)

Renaming imagesEdit

Can I please remind you, and stress, that when you rename an image you ensure you're not leaving a redirect behind. A good example of why is that you uploaded a bunch of gunsmith images without the gunsmith naming again, and if you renamed them without suppressing the redirect, no one would be able to upload a file of that name because the page already exists, meaning it would need admin intervention to delete the redirect page. 22:42, March 15, 2016 (UTC)

Hi Louis Bancroft. I've noticed you've helped me edit my posts. Can you give me tips on editing them myself? I'm very new to the COD Wiki! Thanks. Eneliko Smith (talk) 01:09, May 12, 2016 (UTC)

Custodian rightsEdit

Hi Louis, I'm sorry to say I've had to revoke your Custodian rights. You're not allowed to delete pages that aren't on the filespace, and MLG told you this before above, so I can't let you just get away with a warning. If you want the rights back you'll need to reapply. 16:10, May 18, 2016 (UTC)

Make sure that a category exists before adding it (otherwise, simply create it at least). The ones that you added to the last 6 images were nonexistent (I'll create them now). Kilo 141 Beta menu icon MW Ultimate94ninja talk · contribs 10:19, August 1, 2016 (UTC)

In Regards to Categories Edit

I deleted a recent categoryy you made, "Call of Duty: Black Ops III achievement icons", as we don't create seperate categories for different platforms. As with previous games, just "achievement images" is neccesary. Capt. MillerTalk 06:45, August 6, 2016 (UTC)

Help with some stuffEdit

Hey. The reason for this message is that I need help getting an image. And in addition to that, I need help moving the achievement icons and images in the CoD Ghosts pages (you can decline both tasks). The image I'm talking  about is the Exo Stockpile icon which I can't find anywhere. And since I suck at coding and don't have any of the DLC, maybe you can have an idea of what to do. Do as you wish.  QVw9GKe.pngTimelessPeople  21:48, August 14, 2016 (UTC)

Categories Edit

Since I've been watching you categorise stuff, and while you're doing a good job for the most part, I'd like to point out a couple things:

  1. When making categories about characters, weapons etc, always categorise them with a subcategory. For examples, the character Nick Reyes shouldn't just be categorised with "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Characters", but "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare SCAR Characters", as that refers to the organisation he is under.
  2. Weapons follow this same hierarchy
  3. If in doubt, look at how categories were made for previous games.
  4. However, there is a fine line between overcategorisation and undercategorisation, so try and avoid the former.

Hopefully this should help. Capt. MillerTalk 03:08, August 18, 2016 (UTC)

Licensing Edit

Just wanted to let you know that the concept art you uploaded unlicensed. Since this hasn't really been a problem at all as of recently, take this as a heads up. Capt. MillerTalk 11:23, August 18, 2016 (UTC)

Wrong Category Edit

You applied the wrong category to "Energeon Camouflage images". Instead of "Call of Duty: Black Ops III Camouflage galleries", which is for the actual pages, you should have used "Call of Duty: Black Ops III Camouflage images". Capt. MillerTalk 02:36, September 2, 2016 (UTC)

RfCEdit

Yo homie i readded your custodian rights, sorry for the delayed response on your request. KλT 02:23, September 17, 2016 (UTC)

Much appreciated. Besides that, I knew I'd be waiting for quite a bit. Louis Bancroft (talk) 18:41, September 17, 2016 (UTC)

RE:ImagesEdit

I'll give them a look at. Might take a while because I'm also putting a of lot of time in to a Fallout 4 mod at the moment. 13:07, September 27, 2016 (UTC)

IWEdit

So, as I've stated in a couple of edit summaries, Infinite Warfare images should have simply "IW" as part of their names, not "CoDIW". I've renamed some of your images and replaced the links, I'll take care of the rest later (unless you or somebody else does it). Best EditorEdit

Best editor, 100% Editor, best editor. I'm impressed with the amount of images you've uploaded in the past couple days, keep it up :D Yeebo (talk) 06:59, November 1, 2016 (UTC)

No problem, Yeebo. After all, I did change my profile pic to a hot woman, which is the international symbol of "I spend all day on the Internet". Louis Bancroft (talk) 14:45, November 1, 2016 (UTC)

A couple of questionsEdit

Hey Louis, since you obviously own BO3, could you check if this anon's edits are correct? He replaced the weapons' calibers to what the real life counterparts would be (especially for the first three weapons pages he edited), so I'd like to see if the game was actually patched to show this or if he simply added IRL info. On another note, does the Kendall 44 actually get named "Hornet" in campaign when the Full Auto upgrade is added, or you've simply put this due to it becoming fully-automatic like the latter? (also note that somebody added a Glock 18's image on the Kendall page, but that's not the base image of the Kendall 44 nor the Hornet). Kilo 141 Beta menu icon MW Ultimate94ninja talk · contribs 10:44, November 7, 2016 (UTC)

EDIT: The last point has been clarified. Now regarding the Full Auto upgrade, I've removed the "Hornet" info from the Kendall 44 page (especially that classic weapons aren't available in singleplayer), but if you're sure that it actually gets named "Hornet" when upgraded in campaign and becomes specifically this weapon then feel free to revert this. Remastered Character DesignsEdit

Hey, Louis. I was just asking another User called 'Capt. Miller' about the new images for characters in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, and whether or not we should add new character images such Griggs, John Price and other CoD4 characters, and he told me you could upload them.

Wrong Cat Edit

You've added the wrong categories again, in relation to this and this. You should've used "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Attachment images" instead of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Attachment galleries", as the former is for image cats, while the former is for pages.

Please, try to follow this when adding categories, I can't stress this enough. Categorisation follows a hierarchy that has been in place since the creation of the wiki, and messing with it can take can't a while to fix.

RE: Ships details Edit

Hey!

For the commanders, I only use what Activision gave us during the marketing campaign for the game (such as the MOST Wanted profile for Kotch, Zalanyi, Thies). Since Derhachov and Thies are Vice-Admirals I assumed they are the commanders of the Icarius and Hellas respectively but I could be wrong for this two. But for Bradley Fillion and the Ares Vallis we see him on the bridge. Same thing happen with Barkov when we board "his ship".

As for the weapon, when you attack a ship (A-Jack/Destroyer/Carrier) the HUD show their weapons with a little red arrow and a name. I just count every arrow and note the name haha Kalinine (talk) 22:30, November 29, 2016 (UTC)

Infinite Warfare Weapon PicturesEdit

Hey Louis, I found a spot if you want to use that for pictures. I think it looks great. It's on the map Breakout and its in the SDF spawn (I think it is their spawn) and it's on that road by the hovering VTOL. Look out towards the mountains and up for some great picture shots. You don't have to if you want, it's just a little recommendation by me. Intel model BOIIRoachTheIntelCollector Talk 12:13, November 30, 2016 (UTC)

Volk Menu ImageEdit

Hey Louis, can you do me a favor and get a better menu icon for the Volk? The picture I have is too dark. That'd be nice. Intel model BOIIRoachTheIntelCollector Talk 21:53, December 1, 2016 (UTC)

"Lovely" as Gaz would say. Intel model BOIIRoachTheIntelCollector Talk  22:09, December 1, 2016 (UTC)

We need pictures of the icon/symbol for Infinite Warfare game modes Edit

Seeing as you're the "image" guy, I thought I'd ask you if you could add the game mode pictures from in-game of Infinite Warfare to here. This would mean to add all of the game modes in game icon.

I lack the editing and picture skills to do this.

Go to custom games, mode, and look at all the game modes and look at the icon/symbol (above the description) and add them to all the game mode pages here.

For example, the icon/symbol of Team Deathmatch is a picture of a skull with two weapons. All of the game modes icons need to be added.

Thank you,

(CaptainReyes (talk) 20:57, December 4, 2016 (UTC)CaptainReyes)

IW Concept Art Images Edit

Hello Louis,

I see you've been adding some really nice concept art to the IW pages. If you want to add more, I have two links from artist Aaron Beck, who's concept art is greatly reflected in game. If you need anything else, I'm here!

Thanks!Edit

Heh, no problem, i'm just grinding out as much as i can before i go off to Uni in February, and since i own all the CoD's on PC i am trying to get as much images as humanly possible even with what little communities the games have (Offline clients will be the best)

Currently my goal is to get all Supply Drop cards from IW and MWR to put the items on the pages and i've got that covered realistically

The one thing i do need in terms of assistance is just to expand upon IW pages (if you can that is), as i haven't played the game's multiplayer all TOO much so i don't know the ins, outs, strategies and all that

Y'all keep up the good work too, this wiki'll be updated, eventually, but it will happen ehe

WWII ImagesEdit

Hey Louis, I was wondering if you can do something for me. Do you think you can get the Xbox images of the achievements in WWII like you did in Infinite Warfare so I can use them for the infoboxes of the missions? Intel model BOIIRoachTheIntelCollector Talk 3:04, November 6, 2017 (UTC)

LicensingEdit

Please be aware that images from the game are Copyrighted Material. Please do not use the Fair Use template for them. It should state in the upload screen which license to use for Call of Duty screenshots. Thanks. 11:19, May 16, 2018 (UTC)

Hey Louis, do you mind getting the Xbox achievement images for the achievements found within The Tortured Path? Intel model BOIIRoachTheIntelCollector Talk 1:08, August 8, 2018 (UTC)
