Welcome to the wiki![edit source]
Hello SteveHeist, and welcome to the Call of Duty Wiki! Thanks for your contributions. We hope you'll stick around to make even more!
Have you created your user page yet? It's your own personal page, and you can do anything you want with it! Your user page will also help us get to know you as an editor better.
Here are some links that you may find helpful:
We hope you enjoy editing here, and look forward to seeing you around!
Article Talk Pages[edit source]
Please do not discuss topics on talk pages that are old. Firstly, it not helpful since the discussion took place a couple of years ago, so it won't be helpful anyway, and they also don't help in improving the articles.18:45, October 21, 2015 (UTC)
RE: Random Shock...[edit source]
Yeah, I'm a huge fan of Bionicle. I don't have every set, unfortunately, but I do have nearly all of the books. Nothing from Lego has quite had my interests as much as Bionicle. Anyways, I'm hoping books will come out for the new series. I doubt they'll be as good as the "Adventures" series, but since Greg Farshtey would likely be the writer, I still have high hopes that they'll be good.01:10, October 23, 2015 (UTC)
Bad Edit[edit source]
An edit you recently made to a page was undone because it was either:
- Contained poor English
- Did not conform to Wiki policies
- Concerned real life info, which is not generally allowed
- Contained speculation, which is not generally allowed
- Featured a formatting error
Please read the Manual of Style and the policies in order to brush up on the style and professionalism that is expected on this wiki.
You are still free to make edits; however, please make sure they are up to standards!
- You filled out the AfD incorrectly. It contradicted itself and did not contain any reasoning behind it.
Template Use[edit source]
Bad Image[edit source]
An image you recently uploaded was considered to violate the image policy as it was one or more of the following:
- Low quality
- Contained a banned image effect
- Concerned real life info, which is not generally allowed
- Poorly named
- Incorrect/lack of license
- Duplicate file/superseded
- Tampered with a photo-editing program
Please make sure you read the image policy to be sure of the protocols in place for uploading images.
You are still free to upload images; however, please make sure they are up to standards! Continued uploads that do not comply with the policy may result in a block.
- All of your images were deleted as they were poorly named and incorrectly licensed. For all game images, they must be licensed as Copyrighted Media. Furthermore see COD:FILE#Naming, on how to name images. 18:45, November 5, 2015 (UTC)
Bumping a dead blog[edit source]
A blog comment you recently made was deleted because it was posted on a blog that is considered "dead". Any blog not commented on close to, or over 30 days old is seen as a "dead blog" and is asked you do not comment on it.
You are still free to make comments; however, please make sure they are up to standards!
- The blog was made in April. 20:53, November 5, 2015 (UTC)
My Zombies Themed Calendar[edit source]
Hey, I just read on the blog that it was posted to that you wanted my calendar. Were you serious? Because I can make another. It might be hard to get it in color though.
One more thing. What's your PSN/Xbox Live?
RE: BO3 Nightmares[edit source]
What do you mean? That you haven't seen the mode in the game yet?18:11, November 11, 2015 (UTC)
- Sure, feel free to add info about such features on the page. To be honest I didn't get the game yet, so I don't know exactly about unlocking the mode. 18:27, November 11, 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, I thought it did, due to the fact it's referencing a non-canon piece of media from an unrelated party, and I couldn't find a better Policy than COD:IRL to justify the deletion of the unnecessary edit... SteveHeist (talk) 16:27, November 19, 2015 (UTC)
The Calendar[edit source]
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I didn't forget about the calendar. I am working on it. It took me forever to find a thing on the computer to actually make it. I'm making it on Microsoft Word. LOL. Anyway. You'll get it before Christmas.
Done and sent to your email. I hope you like it.
hi heist, i just wanted to say, if you decide to make a poll it would be appreciated if you dont call it regularly scheduled poll. when you said about making a poll, after thinking about it and getting off the other day i wasnt sure if you meant you wanted to make a poll in the regularly scheduled series or just a poll of your own. RisingSun2020 (RisingSun's Talk Page ☀ Blog Posts ☀ Contributions) 21:45, December 2, 2015 (UTC)
Don't worry. The "Regularly Scheduled Poll" series is yours. I'll come up with something else, or just title it "[Insert Topic Here] Poll" without the quotes. I was planning on landing mine Friday of next week to correspond with the RSP series, though. SteveHeist (talk) 21:49, December 2, 2015 (UTC)
- ok, thank you, and that would be fine with me if its on the same day, although theyre usually on saturdays or sundays. RisingSun2020 (RisingSun's Talk Page ☀ Blog Posts ☀ Contributions) 21:56, December 2, 2015 (UTC)
Edit summary[edit source]
Please be aware that edit summaries such as "If your going to do it, do it right the first time." can be seen as rude, and I ask you please be cautions in how you word them. Thanks.

Oh okay. Yeah I understand where you're coming from now. It can be quite confusing, but yeah those sections of the templates are meant for maps that have similar locations of one another, not if they were inspired.15:33, March 8, 2016 (UTC)
I'll move it to vote as soon as I get a free moment later today.

"development of the page"[edit source]
Well, thank you for your reply.
But if what you say apply for all the talk pages, then on the 4000 talk pages of the cod MW2 page, they should all assist the dev of the page ?
Is it the case here ? (just an exemple, i could probably find a thousand more like this)
So you agree on the point that on the total number of pages, which is around 4 thousands talk pages on MW2, they can't all help page's development ? far from all of them.
And my talk page wasn't the worst, it could even be considered as to "help the main space" bs.
So when that guy directly deletes it and says that i should not post it there again (or i will be blocked whithout questions asked), it is a little exagerated, even unfair.
You can add to this, the fact that the other admin told me to post my images on a talk page because he said that none of them belong to a main article. The admins tell me to do something and later, when i try to do it, they forbid me of doing it. That piss me a little.
You say it doesn't help the main article, i agree for the main MW2 game article page. But what about the maps articles when it illustrates a mentioned fact ?
In the first place i wanted to place just few of them (graffitis) in different MW2's maps articles, CS said it wasn't interesting enough, but it is quite rude and stupid to say that because:
- it isn't defined by a rule precisely
so - the admin himself is the one defining what is or what isn't interesting enough, what is he ? god ? is he the one who can decide ?
What if it was another admin with another PoV about it ? well i have the answer. If it has been another admin, the image would be allowed on the article, just like the Al-asad's graffiti that i posted on Al-asad's article.
On the specific map article, you could say that it helps illustrate a fact that's already in the article, you could say it helps spotting an information quickly (the eye is more caught by images than by words). Anyways as it is adding more info about a subject, i think it deserves to be on a wikia's article, wikia being an encyclopedia, the most information = the better.
It could help in that way, but who/what decides of that for now ? an admin, a human. Human =/= perfect, Admin A =/= Admin B . So when a system only relies on human, it isn't good especially when no one is here to check the decisions and job of broken admins.
The way this wikia function should be revamped becuse it lacks of logic and of fairness.
Well, this is a nice story.
You wrote all of that to say, if i understood your way of seeing the Wikia, that images should be here only if they have a story ? So the only (or one of them) requirement for something to be on an article is to have a story ?
What rule says that ? if there is that rule somewhere i want to see it, otherwise it is still an arbitrary decision took by the admin, and so if the admins changes, decision can also change, which is nonsense broken system.
A didctatorship disguised as a democracy with its "edit" button.
So if a staff member read this: Make a request system, it'll still be a dictatorship, but without disguise, that and also tell everyone that Wikia isn't democratic. That will save the admins efforts.
There's really nothing you can do about people who can't follow simple instructions. You've been fantastic in trying to help out this guy, but there's really not much more you can do.16:35, May 18, 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, you've done very well. I'll be around on chat in case things kick off there and there'll be someone on call hopefully if mainspace goes off again.18:59, May 19, 2016 (UTC)
