Image Naming

The images shouldn't have their name change, as per the file rules.

Re: Re: Image Naming

Yeah, I just got through speaking to Inkie Twig about that. I guess it does fit with the file rules. I thought because the name was spaced, it wasn't proper licensing (I know other Wiki's that enforce the image policy rule strictly because of copyright reasons, etc.).

Uploading Videos

When uploading videos, can you please check if the video exists on the wiki, before you go ahead and upload a video, because all it does is mess up the file history of a video. Soap Shadow · Talk  00:02, June 22, 2015 (UTC)

Crawler Zombie

To quote the talk page:

"If you look at the bottom of the screen when Zombie Theatre is loading, one of the tips says that zombie crawlers leave a nasty surprise after they die, and an in-game name is more valid than the name given in the game guide."

So yes, there technically is an offical name for them. Not to mention that there's no proof that the zombies have Nova 6 in them, so naming them 'Nova Zombies' would be speculation. Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 16:32, June 22, 2015 (UTC)

Naming Images

hi, when naming images, please put the initials of the game it is an image of at the end of the file name, before the file extenison (example: [File Name]_[Game Initials].[File Extension]). otherwise, keep it up with the good images! i was wondering, where did you get the bo3 zombies logo? i looked up bo3 zombies and there hasnt been any news for it recently, and theres no news blogs about it, so i dont see where you couldve gotten it from. Quick Question

Aren't Crusader Zombies and Templar Zombies the same thing? Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 06:34, August 4, 2015 (UTC)

Ah, okay. Judging by the amount of information on them you placed on the page, don't you think that they deserve thier own page? There's quite a bit of information there and it doesn't seem to mesh well with the rest of the page. Just food for thought. Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 05:36, August 5, 2015 (UTC)

On my undos

I don't want to turn the pages into an edit war, so I want to explain myself a little better.

Launch is a base map for Call of Duty: Black Ops, whilst Ascension was released later with the First Strike DLC. Therein, Launch could not have been inspired by Ascension, because, as far as we know, Ascension didn't exist when Launch formed (unless you have a source stating otherwise). Hanger 18 was released with the Annihalation DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops, whilst Moon was released for Rezurrection, the last, and, therefore, chronologically most distant DLC for Black Ops. Therefore, the map cannot be inspired by Moon, because once again, Moon didn't exist when Hanger 18 was created.

Another example would be saying Nuketown 2025 took inspiration from Nuk3town. Or Nuketown Zombies, for that matter. I undid the edits because they conflicted with the chronological order of map releases. If Moon had been released alongside Hanger 18, it would make sense, but the months between just don't allow it. Same case with Launch and Ascension. And Rise and The Giant. And Stonehaven and Der Eisendrache. Or any other reverse "inspiration" that can come to mind.

Now, I might have the meaning of the "singleplayer=(Map Name)" section wrong, but that is how I interpret it. SteveHeist (talk) 15:26, March 8, 2016 (UTC)

MP40 vs. HG 40

how can you tell its mp40s in the cutscene and not hg 40s? the guns are very similar, really it could be either since the mp40 looks practically the same to me, but i dont see something that points to it being an mp40 rather than an hg 40. War flag of the Imperial Japanese Army.svg RisingSun2021 Personal RisingSun2013 2000px-Flag of JSDF.svg.png (RisingSun's Talk Page Blog Posts Contributions) 21:17, March 23, 2016 (UTC)

the thing is though, we dont know they arent the same either, and its just a guess that its the mp40 rather than the hg 40 as well. so far the game has only had fictional weapons in it, so i would think it would be logical that its the hg 40. if you still disagree, i think it might be best to do a vote on whether its the mp40 or hg 40 in the cutscene - and whether to move the info to the hg 40 page or keep it on the mp40 page - on the talk page for the mp40. then sorry, but ill go make the vote then because i still think its more logically the hg 40. War flag of the Imperial Japanese Army.svg RisingSun2021 Personal RisingSun2013 2000px-Flag of JSDF.svg.png (RisingSun's Talk Page Blog Posts Contributions) 21:44, March 23, 2016 (UTC)

Ranking Blogs

Just so you know, I'm pretty sure it'd be okay if you yourself put the "Opinion blog" category on your ranking blogs. Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 16:54, April 14, 2016 (UTC)

Well no one on the news team really does much with their responsibilities (most don't even seem to be very active any way), and I don't think that (unless you suddenly start writing like shit) anyone will actually mind. Besides, it seems that most opinion blogs are just ignored until they've already been commented on a lot or are written by those in the news team. Vulture Aid isn't in Zetsubou no shima. I figured. it sucks that it isn't included, because it would mean Who's who and PHD could have returned as well. I really wanted those perks to return.

We don't need dozens of images from a single trailer. Focus on images with a clear subject that are well lit and different from the others in the article. We don't need two screenshots that take place seconds apart from each other when there's a better official version; we don't need nearly black pictures of characters with obscured faces. Believe it or not, too many images is a bad thing. Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 22:38, May 2, 2016 (UTC)

Check your brightness settings; your monitor brightness may be all the way up, which is what I had to do to see some of the images clearly. Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 22:44, May 2, 2016 (UTC)

The images I removed are the pictures I think should be removed. Read my edit summary and you'll see the reasons why I removed the images. I can go through the images one by one and tell you the specific reasons why for each individual image, but that seems like an utter waste of time. Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 22:58, May 2, 2016 (UTC)

I've given you the reasons multiple times, but apparently you need me to go picture by picture:

Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 23:16, May 2, 2016 (UTC)

The images on the wiki are also a cluster fuck since so few people remove images from articles, so just because a similar image is present doesn't validate one or the other. Besides, the one from Ghosts at least has the character's face in the image and presents something other than the character's back. Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 23:21, May 2, 2016 (UTC)

Once again, just because there's something similar does not validate one image or the other. You know what's great about wiki? If you see an error, you can hit the "edit" button and fix it.

Take a look at the first image and the one you placed on my talk. Notice anything? While the one that you posted isn't a great screenshot either, it's no where near as cluttered as the one from IW and shows the location. Outside of being a character looking down on a ship, they're not all that similar.

And there's a huge difference between image nine and one you posted from BOII; the one from BOII shows a clear silhouette of a person, not a head obscured by a lens flair and wall the person is hiding behind. In fact, they aren't similar at all.

The one I said was poorly lit is poorly lit; the background is significantly brighter than the foreground and obscures the subject of the picture, it is not a good picture.

"Plus you can see half of her (or his) face." There, you just illustrated my point. You can't tell who the person is because their face is hidden behind a gun. Seeing half a person's face in a portrait isn't a good thing either.

And the one I called fucking horrible is fucking horrible. Compare the building to the soldiers right in front of the camera; either the textures for the Marines are terrible, or the focus is on the building in the back. The Marines who dominate the foreground are not in focus, certainly not as in focus as the building in the background is.

RE: IRL Honey Badger

If there's no in-game evidence to support your claim, then that would be an IRL violation. To say that the Honey Badger is a Personal Defense Weapon, there needs to be a source in-game saying that the Honey Badger is a PDW.

I'll give you two examples to try and make it clearer for you: the Intervention and the RSASS.

In MW2, the Intervention is referred to at some point in the game as the CheyTac Intervention. Calling the Intervention the CheyTac Intervention would not warrant a COD:IRL violation, as this claim is evidenced in-game, and therefore does not rely on IRL information to prove a point.

In MW3, the RSASS is not referred to at any point in the game as the "Remington Semi Automatic Sniper System". Calling the RSASS the Remington Semi Automatic Sniper System would warrant a COD:IRL violation, as this claim isn't evidenced in-game, therefore relying on IRL information to prove a point.

Hopefully I clarified this for you. If you do end up having a source in-game to defend your point, feel free to put it in, but consider if it is trivial. Didikins (talk) 01:13, May 10, 2016 (UTC)

That would violate COD:IRL. You can only put that in if it is referred to at some point in the game as a PDW. Didikins (talk) 20:57, May 10, 2016 (UTC)

"I'll explain things in a blog."

Please don't. No offense, but every time you've tried to explain yourself it hasn't worked and it's just led to long threads where other users tend to shoot down your ideas. I highly doubt that making a blog about it will solve anything, and I don't anticipate the comments being anything more than a shit show. I'm not saying this because I don't want you to express your opinion, but to prevent pointless, multi-day arguments. I just don't see anything positive coming out of it. Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 22:36, May 11, 2016 (UTC)

Hello, I've noticed you've helped edit some of my posts. However, I disagree with the edits made to the Brecci 205 and 48 Dredge, since it seems few of my posts remain there.

Pages such as the L-CAR 9 for example have all of the pictures, having the title "Create-a-Class View: [Attachment]".

Pages such as the VMP have kept some or at least one of the pictures I've uploaded, such as the "Create-a-Class View: Laser Sight". This makes sense, since the Laser Sight isn't viewable in Gunsmith mode, as it is on the right side of the gun.

Was it the fact that the images are reduntdant due to the Create-a-Class View of attachments being too similar to the Gunsmith view of the gun?

Was it the fact that it was in Create-a-Class view entirely?

You are more experienced to me in editing this wiki, and I'd hate to mess up without having learned what I did wrong.

I've received tips from the admin on how I've named the .png files incorrectly, since I didn't add BO3 to the end. I'll also add that they are customization menu views of the weapon attachments.

Can I ask why you deleted perfectly good images to replace them with images that were exactly the same?

20:24, July 29, 2016 (UTC)

Thing is, you renamed one of those images over a deleted one. Now I can't access the logs for it, so we've just lost all the data on it. There was no reason for those images to be unused either, the images that had replaced them were worse quality and not named. they should of just been added back. 20:31, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
Also, the original images were not from Counter Strike. Because A) They were uploaded by Aug, whom wouldn't upload from the wrong game. And B) the MP5K in Counter Strike looks like this. 20:34, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
Actually, with further research, the above image is a mod. The MP5K never appeared in CS. Only the MP5 did, and it doesn't look like the MP5K at all. 20:41, July 29, 2016 (UTC)

(Reset indent) It's fine. At least you renamed them to meet policy.
