"Velikan is a shadow of a shadow. Tales of his exploits are written off as fairytales at best and gross exaggerations at worst. Those who know him never speak ill of him. Whether it’s due to fear or respect, no one knows."
Initially, Velikan appears in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 as a boss in DMZ's Building 21 map where he will drop an RGL-80 and Stealth Plate Carrier on death. Additionally on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Velikan appears in the Veteran version of the AtomgradRaidEpisode 02 as a hostile enemy, similar to his Building 21 appearance.
Next to nothing is known about Velikan, save for his mysterious identity and reputation as a highly trained assassin. At some point, he joined Shadow Company as a mercenary.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare[]
Velikan was originally shown with a different mask design in his bio picture; instead of his standard Oni decal, the picture depicted his mask with two horizontal jagged lines resembling a mouth. This was fixed in the Season Six update.
The preview image for Velikan's "Take A Bow" finishing move also shows Velikan with his original mask design.
Velikan's "Woodman" skin is a reference to the Tin Woodman from the film The Wizard of Oz.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II[]
Velikan was originally announced as being part of SpecGru.
Although Velikan is known to be American, his citizenship is labeled as "[REDACTED]" in his character's bio.
