Opening Cutscene[]
An image and flashes of a tree with lightning is seen as it slowly gets closer.
Dr. Salim: That was the day you met Bishop, the man who found the cure. Before he died at the Cairo Aquifers, Maretti told you to find him.
F. Player: On Maretti's instruction, we sought him out. We told him what we knew, which at the time was just a name: Deimos. He didn't know much, just that Deimos was responsible for the outbreak - and that a Safehouse in Singapore had a dossier on the guy. So we returned to Singapore. Little did we know, Goh Xiulan had taken the city - and somehow gotten the undead to "obey" her. If we were gonna get to the Safehouse, we'd have to go through them.
Level Briefing[]
Encryption# 6F-20-60-21. Protocol: Romeo
Goh is intent on enacting Vengeance on the Winslow Accord safe house
Mission approval is denied. Agents should NOT proceed to Singapore, Safe Zone
Cutscene #1[]
An overview of the now ravaged Safe Zone of Singapore. The Player and Hendricks observe the scene and jump down to the streets.
F. Player: The Vultures - sadistic scavengers, ravaged by atrocity and time, driven by fear and insanity. We saw their victims strung up on display the moment we arrived.
The two observe the destruction and some bodies hung up by the Vultures.
Dr. Salim: When forced against the wall, the impurities of man can be revealed.
F. Player: It was more than that, this was survivalism. When only one percent of the world's population is human, you either died and become the undead, or you survived by preying on the living.
The Player walks forward.
Gameplay #1[]
The Player readies her MR6 as she and Hendricks move forward and go inside a building, where they heard people talking nearby. The two reach the third floor and witness the Vultures breaching in and killing civilians as the Player, with or without Hendricks, takes out the three hostiles. The two head outside on the third floor, and they notice a group of Vultures on the ground with Robots and a P.A.W.W.S.
F. Player: These scavengers were well equipped. I suppose that's what you get when you prey on your fellow man.
Hendricks disrupts the P.A.W.W.S.
F. Player: We made quick work of them.
The Player jumps down, takes down an enemy, and shoots the rest nearby. Meanwhile, Hendricks gets on top and shoots at the P.A.W.W.S. weak point before getting off as it blows up. The two then kill the Zombies and Technical Turret.
F. Player: Hendricks took point down the alley, from the sounds of it the dead knew we were coming. Clearly, Singapore was happy to have us back in town.
Hendricks open the gates and the two move up into an alley, where they witness a civilian get shot in the back and a police officer hanged as the Zombies spot them. The two eliminate the Zombies in the alley as Hendricks open the doors and they enter into the back of a Butcher's Shop.
F. Player: Overwatch confirmed the Vultures were converging on the Safehouse. Civilian spotted on site. We didn't know if we could get through without additional collateral damage.
The two witness more civilians lined up and executed by the Vultures outside, as they stealthily move across to another door. If they're spotted, the two will eliminate all Vultures outside. Either way, they go outside into another alley and approach to another door of another building.
Cutscene #2[]
The Player opens the door as she and Hendricks head inside. Outside, a Vulture is seen moving a civilian, and more Vultures were lining up civilians on their knees and having them face a wall.
Dr. Salim: Curious, the Vultures' behavior: willing to kill the living and dead alike without prejudice. Survival of the Fittest at its most primal...
While Dr. Salim speaks, a Vulture lights up and throws a Molotov Cocktail in a building. A few civilians come out and are set on fire as they burn to death while he lights up and throws another Molotov in the same building.
Dr. Salim: ...they act with reckless abandon without thinking of the consequences. They had to know - the more they killed other humans, the slimmer their chances became.
While the Player speaks, a Vulture is pouring three civilians tied-up in a circle with gasoline, as another Vulture is seen with a flare ready to burn the gas-covered civilians.
F. Player: Don't think of them as humans: they're animals. Abandoned by any form of governing body, they dictated their own society. They were tribal. Nomadic. In their eyes, man was as much a threat as the undead.
Hendricks gives the Player a Sheiva SSW.
Gameplay #2[]
Hendricks heads up the stairs into the rooftops while the Player readies the Sheiva SSW.
F. Player: The scavengers began realizing they weren't the only humans in the area. It was a matter of time before Goh Xiulan knew we were here. The Safehouse was beyond the Gardens, but the Gardens belong to the dead. They smelled us lurking above.
The Player pushes through the Zombies and Parasites in the Gardens to the gate. She opens it and sees Hendricks pushing and throwing his knife at a Vulture, killing him.
F. Player: Before Hendricks could take him out, the scavenger alerted Goh Xiulan. She knew we were here. Reinforcements were moving on a checkpoint nearby... along with more dead.
An A.S.P. is seen across the gate, destroying anything in sight. The Payer and Hendricks climb up to the rooftops, where they see more Undead as they all spotted them. The two kill all the Undead near the Temple Courtyard and proceed to the office building. The Player opens the doors as she and Hendricks move up to the second floor and approach to another door.
Cutscene #3[]
The Player opens the door as the cutscene shows civilians that were tortured and hanged by the Vultures; a Vulture pushing a civilian over the balcony, as he fell to his death.
Dr. Salim: Why did they create these displays? What was the purpose?
A few police officers fighting back against the Vultures were killed by a Grenade Launching Technical Turret.
F. Player: They weren't just displays - they were "art". A way to show off their work.
The Vultures exit the Technical.
F. Player: Lure their enemies with the dead bodies of friends. Vultures are territorial. They fought among themselves, sociopaths at war with everyone and everything. Undead or fellow human...
The Player and Hendricks are on the ground undetected.
F. Player: ...either way, you were a predator competing over the same resources.
Gameplay #3[]
F. Player: And now we'd become prey baited into a trap.
The two engage and clear out all the Zombies near the Parking Garage. As the two were about to go in the Parking Garage, an A.S.P. came through the Parking Garage's wall.
F. Player: A malfunctioning A.S.P. heard the commotion and joined the party. I needed to find a rocket launcher.
The Player finds and uses an XM-53 launcher, or a G.L. Technical Turret, on the A.S.P. once it's defenseless and she eventually destroys it. The two enter and ascend inside the Parking Garage. Hendricks push a breakable wall, and the two see the safehouse under heavy fire from the Vultures.
F. Player: The Vultures beat us there, set fire to the facility. Goh Xiulan announced herself over a PA - she was inside... and she a "special guest" waiting for us.
The two go down and eliminate the Undead, Vultures, and P.A.W.W.S. nearby, and then they rally up near the safehouse.
Cutscene #4[]
F. Player: We cleared the plaza, all that was left was to get inside.
The two walk up the stairs. Suddenly, the safehouse exploded - knocking back the two to the ground.
F. Player: The blast knocked us back. We heard the building creaking, it could collapse at any moment.
Hendricks stops the Player.
F. Player: Hendricks thought we should stand down, it wasn't worth it.
Dr. Salim: You push back?
While the Player speaks, she walks up the stairs.
F. Player: We needed the dossier. At this point, it was our only lead to Deimos.
Gameplay #4[]
The Player enters the inferno safehouse.
F. Player: I told Hendricks to call in exfil, I'd take the Safehouse. Bishop had told us the document was hidden in the panic room within the facility.
The Player moves through the Zombies to the second floor, where she pushes through more Zombies to the Panic Room and opens the door.
Cutscene #5[]
Dr. Salim: Who was in the panic room?
The Player reaches to Kane, who is tied up on a chair and hurt. While the Player speaks, she unties and help Kane up.
F. Player: ...Her. Kane. Our Guardian Angel. Someone had beaten the hell outta her.
While the Player speaks, she was suddenly attacked by Goh Xiulan with a flaming wooden post, but the Player disarms Goh Xiulan, grabs and pushes her.
F. Player: Goh Xiulan. She was there for the same thing I was... the same thing our friend was - the dossier.
While Dolos speaks, Goh Xiulan tries to stop the Player, but she overpowers her and pushes Goh Xiulan's face into the flames as she burns to death.
Dolos: Do it. Kill her. Kill his host. Prove yourself worthy.
The Player checks on Kane.
Dr. Salim: Did you kill her?
F. Player: I... I struggled... panicked. I acted in heat of the moment.
Dr. Salim: And the file on Deimos?
While the Player speaks, she helps Kane outside the inferno safehouse with Hendricks staring at the two, speechless.
F. Player: Most likely it was reduced to kindle. Gone. Or so we thought. Hendricks called in transport. Singapore was another dead end. But we needed a few answers from Kane...
Hendricks looks back at the inferno safehouse.
F. Player: ...starting with who the hell was she - and what she was doing in an abandoned CIA Safehouse. The truth proved more eye-opening than we could've imagined.
The screen fades to black and the mission ends.
