Violence and Timing is the tenth mission featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
Plot[]
Al-Qatala sends a blackmail message showing their hostage to be Laswell. Shepherd is reluctant to launch a rescue mission, but Price wants to take violence and timing since Laswell hangs in the balance. Shepherd can't support Price and Gaz's effort, but will not stop them. Gaz is concerned they will facing a massive Al-Qatala onslaught though Price wants to bring in powerful friends of his own. On cue, Nikolai lands his helicopter nearby, and when greeted by Price and Gaz, asks where they wanted to go.
Nikolai's helicopter carries Price and Gaz to the Urzikstan highway where Farah is updated on the situation. On the signal to begin the pursuit, Farah rides her motorbike with her troupe alongside. At the HLZ, Price wants Gaz to stay in the chopper and provide overwatch while he works his way through the convoy. Price meets Farah and the captain boards a truck. The two groups check their comms and confirm that the vehicle carrying Laswell is a black SUV leading the Al-Qatala convoy. Therefore they will need to thin out the convoy and extricate Laswell before the border puts her beyond their grasp while Farah warns of local civilian traffic on the highway.
In the intense gunfight, Farah and her troupe begin hijacking enemy vehicles to keep up with the Al-Qatala convoy. Gaz also has to worry about Al-Qatala troopers carrying Stinger missiles. While dealing with a friendly aboard a cargo truck, one of Farah's vehicles crashes into a civilian much to her shock. When another Stinger trooper locks on, Nikolai deploys flares at the expense of Gaz being thrown from the chopper; but dangles on by his guideline rope. Without his rifle, Gaz has to use his pistol to fend off Al-Qatala troopers while Nikolai works to stabilize his helicopter. When Nikolai is over a truck, Gaz cuts himself loose and steals an enemy pickup truck to continue the chase.
While giving chase, Gaz for his part, if his current vehicle is in critical can switch between enemy vehicles throwing on the enemy driver. Suddenly, Farah's jeep is crippled and she implores him to chase down the kidnappers. Along the way, Al-Qatala attempt to stall the pursuit with a roadblock but Gaz breaks through. Al-Qatala further complicate the pursuit by using mines even civilian drivers are caught in the blasts to which Gaz and Farah want to assure their adversary's actions will not go unpunished. Nikolai points out the mines are being deployed from a truck and he takes out the henchmen to remove the hinderance.
Just then, Price shows up with a cargo truck and a grenade launcher. Al-Qatala then shift tactics sending some of their group to chase down Price's troupe. While Al-Qatala attempt to box the pursuit in, Gaz uses the launched grenades to blast the hostile pickup trucks. The Al-Qatala convoy then attempts to leave the main road to try for a shortcut to the border. With still a number of Al-Qatala between Price's team and Laswell, Gaz continues his vehicular swapping tactics. In the midst, Al-Qatala attempt to use missiles against Gaz as well as bomb drones loaned from Hassan.
When those plans are foiled, Al-Qatala then send an APC to deal with Price and Farah's troupe. When Gaz gets close enough, Farah will draw their fire so he can board the enemy vehicle. He gets on, takes out the trooper and plants a charge on the lifeless henchman before eescaping to Price's cargo truck.
With the border only a few klicks away, Nikolai blocks off the escape route with his helicopter. The group then goes on foot to fight through more Al-Qatala troopers and corner the black sUV. At the SUV, Laswell opens her own escape route by hurling herself and her captor out of the car. Price and Farah attempt to take the captor as a prisoner, but Laswell avenges her kidnapping by snapping his neck on his rifle.
With the fight finished, Laswell is surprised to be reunited with old friends akin to that of a family reunion. Laswell congratulates the teams on their performance, and since they are in Al Mazrah, Price insists on getting to someplace safe while he and Farah split up.
