"Last sighted off the coast of Rebirth Island, the doomed cargo tanker known as the Vodianoy, thought lost after it disappeared on a voyage to the Port of Verdansk, has reappeared. More alarmingly still, it has run aground in the low estuary of swamp ground less than a klick west of the Zordaya Prison Complex."

Vodianoy Art WZ

The Vodianoy is ship featured in Call of Duty: Warzone. First seen on Rebirth Island, the ship disappeared from Rebirth and was seen shortly before the Season Two of content for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was visible near the coast of Verdansk under a massive thunderstorm. With the release of Season Two, the ship became a new location within Verdansk.

It was removed during Season Three with the launch of Verdansk '84.

Overview[]

During a match, the player can get on top of the ship and get inside. If the player goes to the place of the ship where it was split in half, they will find a Zombies Machine similar to that seen in Warzone Rumble. Upon interacting with it, a wave of zombies will start spawning inside the ship. Killing zombies will give the player 40xp. Upon killing all the zombies, the player can activate the machine again, and a new wave of tougher zombies will appear. This works similar to the classic Zombies mode. Upon getting in the ship, the player will be given the optional task of locating a yellow keycard that will open a hidden crate. In order to get it, the player must use the Zombies Machine to spawn as zombie waves until the event ends. After that, the player will gain access to the keycard and the crate will be pinged in the ship.

History[]

In 1984, the Vodianoy left Rebirth Island transporting Nova 6 gas following the reactivation of the facility by Perseus operative, Vikhor "Stitch" Kuzmin. However, the ship disappeared before reappearing 37 years later near the coast of Verdansk surrounded by a thunderstorm. The captain of the Vodianoy, Rosental, tried to warn people that an outbreak occured inside the ship and the crew was unable to contain it. The ship soon crashed into the coast, less than a klick west of the Zordaya Prison Complex. The crash broke the Vodianoy in two, with the bow and the first half of the ship remaining on the shore where as the second half and stern sank into the Kastovian Sea. With the ship open, the Nova 6 and Zombies started to release into Verdansk. The Zombies would go on to infest the entirety of Verdansk, resulting in it's eventual destruction by a nuclear explosion.
