In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, weapon camouflages and weapon kits are obtained through various means, such as opening supply drops, completing challenges or completing collections. Camouflages can be applied on top of weapon kits, which are camouflages that change based on the weapon it is applied to. Weapon Kits are exclusively unlocked through supply drops or collections. Camouflages earned from supply drops are obtained in one of four rarities, being Common, Rare, Legendary and Epic. Weapon Kits earned from supply drops are obtained in one of three rarities, being Rare, Legendary and Epic. A fifth rarity also exists for camouflages and weapon kits earned from collections referred to as Bounty. Common, Rare, Legendary and Epic camouflages can be bought for 275
, 460, 775 and 2150 respectively. Rare, Legendary and Epic weapon kits can be bought for 775, ? and 2150 respectively.
Most supply drop and collection camouflages are unique to a class of weapon, whereas challenge camouflages are unlocked individually per weapon. Event multiplayer camouflages are unlocked for a whole weapon class. All Multiplayer camouflages are available for use in Local Play, except for Gold, Regal and Exclusion Zone camouflages which require to be unlocked in multiplayer before being used in Local Play.
Bots are also able to use the Desert, Woodland, Digital, Blue Tiger and Red Tiger camouflages in their loadouts, and are able to place camouflages on the Commander Desert Eagle, which cannot accept camouflages through normal means.

- For the Gift Wrap and Ugly Sweater camouflages, the Submachine Gun sprint challenges' texts says "Sprint a mile on Winter Crash". The actual challenges require the player to sprint two and six miles on Winter Crash respectively.
