The Weapon Specialist is a class in Extinction Mode for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Weapon Specialists receive weapon handling and damage improvements to make them the most adept at killing cryptids. By default, all bullet weapons will deal twenty percent extra damage for all weapon specialists. Further upgrading the class will speed up aim down sight times, weapon swapping, strafe speeds, and increase damage even further.

The Weapon Specialist class confers many of the same benefits as Team Booster, improving aim down sight times, strafe speeds, weapon switch speeds, equipment use speed, and hip-fire spread. The only benefits of Team Booster that elude the Weapon Specialist are the melee swing speed bonus and the objective repair speed bonus. A Weapon Specialist's handling bonuses do not stack with Team Booster effects.

The Specialist Upgrade for the Weapon Specialist will grant the user bottomless magazines for a brief period of time, while also increasing damage, increasing the damage of nearby teammates, and when the upgrade is done, the user's magazine will be topped up for free, essentially giving a free magazine of ammo and a free reload.

The Weapon Specialist's damage bonus is completely ignored if the Weapon Specialist is using Explosive Ammo or Cryptid Slayer Ammo. The explosive component of these ammo types has a flat 10% damage boost that completely ignores and overrides the Weapon Specialist's damage boost if the Weapon Specialist is using either type of ammo.
