"A manually controlled burst of high powered energy deployed from space."
— In-game description.

The XS1 Vulcan is a Scorestreak in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Multiplayer[]

The XS1 Vulcan is a 600-point scorestreak. Once acquired, players will take out their tablet and take control of a satellite. It requires 600 score to acquire. Upon pressing the fire button, a charge meter can be seen powering on the top of the HUD. After a certain amount of charge, there will be an option to instantly charge the laser titled "rapid charge". Upon complete charge, a laser beam will fire down from the sky, slowing the users movement speed and nearly instantly killing any enemies within the beam, but it is possible to escape the beam before it manages to get a second hit on the player. The base Vulcan lasts for a few seconds, but time can be extended with the Extra Time module. The Vulcan satellite is not visible and cannot be attacked directly. However, a System Hack with the Disable Streaks module can destroy a Vulcan, earning the offender the Icarus medal.

The Extra Burst module allows another laser burst to be fired from the same satellite. This module can be taken twice, for a total of three separate laser bursts.

Modules[]

Module Additional cost Effect Icon
Overcharge 100 points Increase the beam width. Overcharge Vulcan Module AW
Extra Time 100 points Double the burst duration. Extra Time UAV Module AW
Extra Burst 150 points Add another burst. Extra Burst Vulcan Module AW

Exo Survival[]

The XS1 Vulcan appears in Exo Survival mode, and is obtained from Orbital Care Packages dropped from Support Drops.

It is somewhat effective against enemy A.S.T.s, but there are better scorestreaks to use against them. It is overall mostly effective against enemy infantry. It leaves the player vulnerable on the ground since it is controlled, so the player should be cautious about where they choose to stay while controlling it, as enemies could easily assault the player and down/kill them while the player is using the Vulcan.

Modules[]

  • Extra Time (Round 11; 3 Upgrade Points): Double the burst duration.
  • Overcharge (Round 17; 3 Upgrade Points): Increase the beam width.
  • Light Show (Round 22; 3 Upgrade Points): Adds three rotating lasers.
