Zombie Flesh is a power-up found in the zombies mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, exclusive to the mode Grief. It is randomly dropped by a zombie and has the appearance of a piece of rotten meat with several warts or boils on it. When thrown on an enemy player, Zombies are attracted to player as if they were a Monkey Bomb, and will ignore all other players. The effect lasts for 30 seconds, or until the tainted player goes down. When thrown on the ground, it will attract zombies for 15 seconds. When in effect, the affected area/player will have a green trail and will attract the zombies to that area.

One can also catch another player's thrown Zombie Flesh by using a melee attack while it is thrown to them. This is known as “catching the meat” and will reduce the catcher's walking and running speed by 50% unless they go down prior to throwing it; if the catcher throws the meat for a second time, they must bleed out entirely and wait until the next round to regain normal walking and running speeds.[1][2]

Players that are revived during an active taint will still be targeted by zombies.
