Fully automatic with low recoil. Effective at medium range.
——Create-a-Class description

战役[]

The M4A1 is introduced in "Blackout" as the SOPMOD variant, supporting a Red Dot Sight, an AN/PEQ-2A laser module, a silencer and an M203.

The regular M4A1 is always equipped with a foregrip and a unique Reflex Sight, while the Grenadier variant is fitted with its grenade launcher and a Holographic Sight. All variants are equipped with the AN/PEQ-2A.

The regular M4A1 is used by 1st Force Recon Marines in the mission "Charlie Don't Surf" and by the SAS in "Hunted" and "Game Over". The SAS uses the M4A1 SOPMOD in "Blackout", "Safehouse", "Ultimatum", "All In" and "No Fighting In The War Room". Marines use the M4A1 Grenadier in "The Bog", "War Pig" and "Shock & Awe". Captain Price always wields a suppressed M4A1 except in his flashback missions and Hunted.

The M4A1 SOPMOD with iron sights that is found in "Ultimatum" (via "give all" console command) has the correct pick-up icon for the default M4A1 SOPMOD. Like the G36C, the M4A1 is not available without a Red Dot Sight or a substitute of it in the campaign, unless the player spawns a different version via the console in "Ultimatum", "All In", or "No Fighting In The War Room".

多人游戏[]

Known instead as the M4 Carbine, it is unlocked at level 10. It can be modified with an M203, Red Dot Sight, Silencer, or ACOG Scope after having completed the respective marksman challenges. The M4 Carbine is an excellent weapon in the right hands, with moderate damage and fairly low recoil. However, the M4 Carbine has fast, large idle sway making it more difficult to aim properly at long range. The M4 Carbine shares ammunition with the M16A4 and the G36C. The M4 Carbine is one of the most versatile weapons in online multiplayer on all platforms, due to its low unlock level and good stats.

The M4 Carbine deals 20-30 damage, killing in 4-5 shots. Stopping Power increases damage to 28-42 damage, killing in 3-4 shots. Head shots come with a 1.4x multiplier typical for most assault rifles, usually allowing the M4 Carbine to kill in one fewer bullet depending on range. While it is a lower per-shot damage assault rifle on par with the G36C, the M4 Carbine's low damage output is mitigated by its high rate of fire and very low recoil (with a recoil pattern of 40 on each side, 50 upwards, and 30 downwards), allowing for accurate automatic fire at both short and medium ranges, or even burst firing at long ranges.

The M4 Carbine is ideal in both close quarters and mid-range combat due to its high rate of fire, decent hipfire accuracy, and low recoil. Steady Aim makes the M4 Carbine even better in close quarters. While the M4 Carbine benefits less from Stopping Power than other assault rifles due to the rapid rate of fire, it still improves further upon the weapon's versatility, making it more deadly at any range. The M4 Carbine has good reload speeds and a fast rate of fire, making ammo consumption rapid. Bandolier aids the player's longevity in combat by offering a large supply of starting ammunition. The M4 Carbine is an excellent stealth weapon due to its affinity for closer range combat, so perks like Dead Silence and UAV Jammer can be useful with it.

使命召唤:现代战争重制版[]

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Mobile)[]

The M4A1 appears in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Mobile) under the name of "Primary Weapon" and is used by every character in the game.

使命召唤:现代战争2[]

The M4A1 returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, this time with it's design having a tan finish like many other weapons in the game. Unlike its Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare counterpart, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 version does not have the carrying handle and iron sights however, the weapon is completely unchanged from Call of Duty 4.

战役[]

The M4A1 is the standard assault rifle for the Rangers and Task Force 141. There are a total of seven variants of the M4A1 in the campaign, excluding Roach's unique Arctic Camouflage version.

The plain M4A1 is the first weapon used by PFC Allen in "S.S.D.D.", and can be taken from dead allies later in the game. This is also the only campaign variant without an M203.

The most common variants are the four "Grenadier" variants with different optics. The ironsight "M4A1 Grenadier" is commonly used by allies, and is one of Allen's second starting weapon in "No Russian". It is also acquired at the start of "Whiskey Hotel" along with an M9, unless the player plays it immediately after "Second Sun", in which case he retains his weapons from that level. It is also found next to some dead Rangers and ammunition crates in the aforementioned levels and "Of Their Own Accord".

The "M4A1 Grenadier w/ Red Dot Sight" is less commonly used by Task Force 141 members, most notably by Roach. One is given to him after planting the C4 in "The Only Easy Day... Was Yesterday". It seems to be his M4A1 SOPMOD with the Suppressor detached. The same variant is used by Soap after Roach detonates the C4. In "The Gulag" Roach's second starting weapon is a unique Arctic Camouflage version of it, which is the only camouflaged M4A1 in the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. This variant also appears to have an invisible infrared laser sight under the barrel, acting identically to the one in Call of Duty 4, visible only with night vision. The same weapon is later found in the armory in "Loose Ends", again, with the standard tan and black finish. This variant is also rarely used by Task Force 141 NPCs in most levels where they are encountered. Note that the Red Dot Sight on this variant has the zoom level of an ACOG Scope.

The "M4A1 Grenadier w/ Holographic" is less commonly used by Rangers and Task Force 141 NPCs. It is the starting weapon of Pvt. Ramirez in "Of Their Own Accord". Another one is automatically taken after using the FGM-148 Javelin in the "crow's nest". After the helicopter crash another one is given to him by Wade, but this variant is much less useful than the iron sight variant following the EMP.

The "M4A1 Grenadier w/ ACOG Sight" is less commonly used by Task Force 141 NPCs. In "The Gulag", Soap uses one to launch a flare from its M203 for the chopper to drop the SPIE rig. Several are also found on the upper floors of the building in "Of Their Own Accord", before boarding the UH-60 Blackhawk.

Before planting the C4 in "The Only Easy Day... Was Yesterday", Roach uses a suppressed variant of the "M4A1 Grenadier w/ Red Dot Sight" called the "M4A1 SOPMOD". It uses the same attachments as in Call of Duty 4, with their Modern Warfare 2 appearances. Its Red Dot Sight has the zoom level of a Holographic Sight.

The "M4A1 Suppressed" is seen used by friendly NPCs during the stealth "The Only Easy Day... Was Yesterday". It can only be obtained by the player in the Museum. This M4A1 has a unique pickup icon, which appears to be the unused M4A1 with a silencer and the singleplayer Red Dot Sight from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, a theory reinforced by the name "M4A1 Suppressed", which they share.

多人游戏[]

The M4A1 is available at level 4 as a default weapon when Create-A-Class is unlocked.

The M4A1 is a low damage assault rifle. At any range short of 37.5 meters, the M4A1 will deal thirty damage per bullet, needing four shots to kill. Damage decreases linearly until fifty meters. At any range past fifty meters, the M4A1 deals twenty damage per bullet, needing five shots to kill. The M4A1 has a four shot kill range of 44 meters. In Hardcore, the M4A1 has a one shot kill range of 37.5 meters. Headshots deal forty percent extra damage with the M4A1, and are beneficial in nearly all circumstances, although multiple headshots are needed at long range to attain the benefit from headshots. The M4A1 has medium penetration power.

The M4A1's damage profile improves when using Stopping Power. At any range short of 37.5 meters, the M4A1 will deal 42 damage per bullet, needing three shots to kill. Damage decreases linearly until fifty meters. At any range past fifty meters, the M4A1 will deal 28 damage per bullet, needing four shots to kill. The M4A1 has a three shot kill range of 45 meters. The M4A1 with Stopping Power is still capable of needing two shots to kill at long range in Hardcore to the body, although a headshot is a guaranteed kill in Hardcore. In Core game types, the M4A1 benefits severely from Stopping Power. In Hardcore, the M4A1 sees next to no use for the perk.

The M4A1 has the second fastest fire rate among assault rifles, firing at 857 RPM.

The recoil per shot of the M4A1 is very mild. The M4A1 has recoil values of 40 to the left, 40 to the right, 50 upwards, and 30 downwards. Among assault rifles, only the ACR and the burst-fire assault rifles have less recoil per shot. The M4A1's centerspeed is 1500.

The M4A1 allows users to move at 95% of the base movement speed, but strafe at just 38% of the base movement speed. The M4A1 allows users to aim down the sights in 250 milliseconds, and the hip-fire accuracy is average. The M4A1's reload speeds are also exceptionally fast. The M4A1's reload animation is 2.03 seconds long, or 2.36 seconds long on an empty magazine. The user can Reload Cancel the M4A1 in 1.1 seconds.

The M4A1's magazine capacity is the standard thirty round magazine that the vast majority of assault rifles have. The M4A1 provides a starting ammo loadout of ninety rounds.

The M4A1 has the standard assortment of assault rifle attachments on offer.

特别行动[]

The M4A1 is a starting weapon in "The Pit" (M4A1 without any attachments), "Snatch & Grab" (M4A1 Grenadier w/ Red Dot Sight), "Breach and Clear" (Arctic camouflage M4A1 Grenadier w/ Red Dot Sight), "Estate Takedown" (M4A1 Grenadier w/ Holographic) and "Wetwork" (M4A1 Grenadier w/ Red Dot Sight). It an also be picked up in "Overwatch", "Estate Takedown" (M4A1 Grenadier w/ Red Dot Sight, found in the armory), "Wreckage" (M4A1 Grenadier, found many times in the level) and "Armor Piercing". All its variants are the same as in the Campaign.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized[]

The M4A1 is featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized. This time, the standard M4A1 fires in three-round burst mode, whereas the Red Dot version is fully-automatic. The three-round burst M4 is almost a copy of the M16A4 found in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Notable differences are a slower rate of fire per burst but a smaller delay between them, as well as more compact iron sights.

The fully-automatic version with a Red Dot Sight has the same rate of fire but much more stopping power than the base M4A1. However, it has the second slowest rate of fire of all the assault rifles in the game. The weapon has a higher damage than the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare version, as it can perform a one-shot-kill if it is aimed at the chest at any range. Secondly, it has a higher rate of fire, and, lastly, like all the weapons of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized, it has almost no recoil when aiming down the sights.

战役[]

In the campaign, the burst-firing M4A1 is exclusive to the level "Closing In", though it can be seen in use by allies in all the missions of the American campaign. It deals lower damage than the M4A1 Red Dot, but it still kills with one burst. The fully-automatic M4A1 Red Dot is a starting weapon in the last few missions of the American campaign, and in the middle of the Task Force 141 campaign. Since it has a high rate of fire, and only 120 reserved rounds to start with, it usually runs out of ammo before the end of the level.

多人游戏[]

In multiplayer, the three-round burst M4A1 is available by default, along with the MP5 and MP7. It is probably the least common weapon used in multiplayer, due to its lack of power, as it takes two bursts to kill, and low ammunition efficiency. Those who do use it usually discard it when the fully-automatic M4A1 Red Dot is unlocked, since it has much higher power and the same rate of fire as the M4A1, only without the delay between bursts.

The fully-automatic M4A1 Red Dot is unlocked for the Coalition faction, taking 50 kills to unlock. Due to its high rate of fire and low recoil, it is favored by many players. It is the most powerful, but slowest firing assault rifle in the game.

Modern Warfare 2: Ghost[]

The M4A1 is used by various characters including Simon "Ghost" Riley, Kevin Sparks and Marcus Washington. It is also seen in Ghost's hands on the cover of all comic books except the fourth.

使命召唤:现代战争3[]

In place of raw firepower, the M4A1 favors top handling and mobility. Minimal recoil keeps you on target through sustained fire, making up for the weapon's low damage output with consistent, accurate shots.
——Call of Duty: Elite description

The M4A1 makes its return in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The M4A1 has a new look; a matte black finish, a custom charging handle assist, skeletonized stock, a different magazine, and slightly different iron sights. The M4A1 has a 30-round magazine. As in previous installments, a foregrip is mounted by default.

战役[]

The M4A1 is the first weapon to be used in the campaign, being Frost's weapon at the start of "Black Tuesday", in which it is equipped with a Hybrid Sight. It is also a starting weapon in "Goalpost", "Return to Sender", "Iron Lady", "Down the Rabbit Hole", and "Dust to Dust". It is an alternate weapon in "Persona Non Grata". Captain Price gives Yuri his M4A1 in "Blood Brothers" after carrying Soap to safety following their failed assassination on Makarov.

The M4A1 has the zoom of an ACOG Scope most of the time when aiming down the sights, regardless of which optic is attached, with the exception of the Hybrid Sight (in which case one will receive a normal zoom level when using the Red Dot Sight). Ironically, in "Down the Rabbit Hole", the M4A1 has an ACOG Scope attached, but it has the zoom of a Red Dot Sight.

多人游戏[]

The M4A1 is unlocked as soon as Create-A-Class is unlocked at Level 4.

The M4A1 is a low damage, low range assault rifle. At any range shorter than twenty meters, the M4A1 will deal 42 damage per bullet, needing three shots to kill. Damage decreases linearly until 35 meters. At any range beyond 35 meters, the M4A1 will only deal twenty damage per bullet, needing five shots to kill. The M4A1 has a three shot kill range of 25.5 meters, and a four shot kill range of 31.6 meters. In Hardcore game types, the M4A1 has a one shot kill range of roughly 29 meters. Damage and range are not the M4A1's strong suit, as it is among the weakest hitting assault rifles for long range combat, with the M4A1 possessing the shortest three shot kill range and the shortest four shot kill range. The M4A1 sports medium penetration power, allowing it to perform decently when shooting through obstacles.

The M4A1 makes up for its lackluster range values with an above average rate of fire. The M4A1 has the second fastest rate of fire in its class, firing at 789 RPM. This rate of fire is only bested by the FAD, with the M4A1's rate of fire besting a number of LMGs and even the UMP45 SMG. The M4A1 is quite a competitive assault rifle in short-medium range combat.

The M4A1's accuracy is one of the M4A1's best strengths. The iron sights are polarizing though. The front sight is crisp, but many do not like the thickness of the back sight. The M4A1's recoil profile is pretty small, with recoil values of 40 to the left, 40 to the right, 50 upwards, and 30 downwards. The M4A1's recoil values are small. The M4A1's centerspeed is a bit underwhelming at just 1350. The M4A1's recoil profile is almost identical to the FAD, but since the M4A1 fires monumentally slower than the FAD, the M4A1 is more accurate as a result. Kick isn't a good fit on the M4A1, as the M4A1's recoil values are small, so the benefit of Kick is negligible. Overall, the M4A1 is among the most accurate fully automatic assault rifles, only definitively trailing the ACR 6.8 among fully automatic assault rifles.

The M4A1's handling characteristics are solid for an assault rifle. The M4A1 allows users to move at 90% of the base speed, strafe at 36% of the base speed, aim down the sight in 300 milliseconds, and the M4A1 has moderate hip-fire spread. The M4A1's reload speeds are among the best in class, with the reload animation being 2.03 seconds long, or 2.4 seconds long if the magazine is empty. In either case, users can Reload Cancel after 1.33 seconds. These reload speeds are very good. A few assault rifles have better reload cancels than the M4A1, but overall, a reload cancel of 1.33 seconds is so good that it offsets the need for Sleight of Hand.

The M4A1 has a standard magazine capacity of thirty rounds. The M4A1 has a starting ammo loadout of ninety rounds.

As far as proficiencies go, not many stand out on the M4A1. Focus is a great fit on any weapon that sees usage at medium range, and the M4A1 definitely sees use at said ranges, so it's a good choice. Impact will allow the M4A1 to more effectively shoot through walls thanks to enhanced penetration power. Using Impact mostly comes down to user playstyle.

The M4A1 has access to all standard assault rifle attachments. The optical attachments are available, and they are a popular choice on the M4A1 due to the iron sights not tickling the fancy of some.

The Silencer is a mixed bag of an attachment on the M4A1. It provides stealth benefits, but it also reduces the M4A1's three and four shot kill ranges by 25%. The M4A1 is already starved for range and will drop off to a five shot kill. Using a Silencer will make the pitiful five shot kill all the more common. That said, the M4A1 is an effective assault rifle in close quarters, and

The Grenade Launcher is not useful for most players, as it almost never gets a one hit kill in Core game types. In Core game types, it is more of a utility to be paired with Recon. In Hardcore game types, the Grenade Launcher remains the powerful option that it was in other games.

The Heartbeat Sensor is a no-risk, low-reward attachment, placing portable radar on the side of the weapon that can detect nearby enemies. Once players get more used to the maps, the Heartbeat Sensor loses its value, especially when considering that Assassin users do not show up on the Heartbeat Sensor at all.

The Shotgun has pitiful power, and is not reliable in the slightest. The M4A1 itself is good in close quarters combat to begin with. The Shotgun is both bad and unnecessary.

Extended Mags is the most directly beneficial attachment to the M4A1, increasing the M4A1's magazine capacity to 45 rounds and boosting the starting ammo loadout to 135 rounds. As the M4A1's range is poor, it will need more bullets than the average assault rifle to kill in some scenarios, and Extended Mags helps to offset that. Extended Mags is the go-to choice if the player does not want to use the other attachments, or wants one of either more ammo or a greater sustained fire capability.

The M4A1 is extremely similar to the SCAR-L, another early unlocked, fully automatic assault rifle. Both have below average three hit kill ranges but better fire rates, accuracy, and reload speeds compared to other fully automatic assault rifles. The M4A1's advantages over the SCAR-L include a fast rate of fire and a higher centerspeed. The SCAR-L's advantages over the M4A1 include longer three and four shot kill ranges, much cleaner iron sights, less recoil per shot, and a faster reload cancel. Each assault rifle has distinct advantages and disadvantages over the other, but both serve the role of accurate, decent CQC assault rifles that flounder at long range. Users interested in either the M4A1 or the SCAR-L should try the other assault rifle out to see which one better suits their needs.

The M4A1 is also featured in the game mode Money In The Denk. It is seen in the "Money" class, where it is equipped with a Red Dot Sight.

特别行动[]

The M4A1 is available for both Survival and Mission modes.

Mission Mode[]

The M4A1 is a starting weapon in the Mission Mode missions "Fatal Extraction", "Smack Town", "Flood the Market", and "Fire Mission". It is an alternate weapon in "Stay Sharp" and "Charges Set".

Survival Mode[]

The M4A1 is available in Survival Mode by default and costs $3000. It is a solid weapon to start off with due to the good damage at close or medium range; it also has a good handling and high rate of fire. However, the M4A1 has low power at a distance and burns through ammunition quickly.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance[]

The M4A1 returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance, simply referred to as the M4.

战役[]

The US National Guard are often equipped with this. In the campaign, on various missions the player often starts off equipped with the M4, and later in the game the M4 can be picked up with various attachments. Unlike its Modern Warfare: Mobilized counterpart, the M4 is now fully-automatic by default, with a high rate of fire, penetration and average recoil.

多人游戏[]

It is unlocked straight away at the start when setting up weapon loadouts and barracks. It is also unlocked with the standard AK-47, M9 and SPAS-12.

武器配件[]

  • Scope - Unlocked at 150 kills with standard M4.
  • Red Dot Sight - Unlocked at 150 kills with Scoped M4.

The M4A1 appeared in the "Behind the Scenes Preview" video. Its appearance is that of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 M4A1. It is seen with a Grenade Launcher and Red Dot Sight at two points in the video. It still retains the foregrip as with previous Call of Duty games it appeared in. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 M4A1 is also seen in the same video in demonstrations of melee combat and the new mantle system. Either way, the weapon does not appear in the final game. However, if the player collects the Rorke file in "The Ghost Killer", there is an image that shows Rorke training with an M4A1 equipped with an M68 sight.

It is loaded in the memory of the mission The Hunted and is fitted with a Red Dot Sight and a Silencer by default. It's completely usable and has the same Modern Warfare 3 model, but lacks a firing sound.[1]

使命召唤手游[]

Fully automatic assault rifle. Medium range with high accuracy.
——In-game description

The M4A1 returns in Call of Duty: Mobile as the M4.

多人游戏[]

The M4 is an average weapon in all respects, though it has a large array of attachments, making it very versatile. Despite having a rather average statistic compared to its peers, the M4 sports an extremely clear iron sight, making optical attachments somewhat obsolete. At 20-40 meters, the M4 can achieve a 3 and 4 shot, as long as you hit the head, then it has infinite 5 and 6 shot if you hit the upper body parts.

Rate of fire is 682 RPM, tied with the Kilo 141, which is relatively fast for an assault rifle.

Hipfire bullet spread is 225(225), which is average for class, equip laser attachments to improve it's hipfire spread at close range.

Mobility is standard for assault rifle class, it has 6.06 m/s of sprint speed, 4.67 m/s movement speed and 2.8 m/s of ADS movement speed, mobility attachments can make the M4 very fast in movement.

Aim Down Sight time is 232 milliseconds, which is average for an assault rifle and SMG, attachments are not needed to improve it's aiming time.

Aim Down Sight bullet spread is 20(11) tied with the Holger 26, average for an LMG, equip accurate and heavy attachments to hit enemies easier at long ranges.

Sprint-to-Fire delay is 150 milliseconds, average for an Assault Rifle.

Hit flinch is 0.65, average for an assault rifle. Equip stocks to improve the flinch.

A Monolithic Suppressor is a great choice for the M4, as the 25% range increase will help it compete better against other rifles such as the LK24, KN-44, Peacekeeper MK2, as well as staying off the minimap.

使命战场[]

The M4 has low recoil, and fast fire rate, allowing it to beam enemies at longer ranges. While it is an excellent weapon to use as a jack of all trades, it received an indirect nerf in the form of shakier visual recoil, which makes hitting targets slightly more difficult. The gun can be found with no attachments like many weapons on the ground, or be selected as a custom weapon in loadout drops.

使命召唤:现代战争[]

A fully automatic, all-purpose assault rifle. Control your shots and this weapon can be very effective at range.
——In-game description

The M4A1 returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

概述[]

战役[]

The M4A1 is available for use in the campaign. Some versions can be found modeled after the "XRK M4" and "Zip Tie" blueprints from multiplayer, albeit with a black finish. The weapon is used by the USMC, and is Alex's primary weapon in "Fog of War", "Hunting Party", and "Into the Furnace". Several are also found in ”The Embassy", lying around the embassy and the compound. It mostly can be found off dead Marines in the basement, and in the armory where the player gets the designator. An unusable M4A1 is seen being used by a Marine in the same mission, along with an M91 being used another, but they cannot be used or picked up. Several can also be dropped by dead Marines in Hunting Party.

多人游戏[]

The M4A1 is unlocked at rank 6 for use in multiplayer and is a versatile fully-automatic assault rifle.

The M4A1 is a 4-6 shot kill to the body which is average for the assault rifle class. Headshots can lower this to 3-4 shots, but at long range you will sometimes need multiple headshots to see a reduction in shots to kill. The gun comes with a 809 RPM fire rate which is slightly above average for an assault rifle. Additionally, the M4A1 comes with good ADS and move speeds for its class, a fast reload, and predictable recoil. All of these traits make the weapon deadly out to medium distances and allow it to hold its own even over longer sightlines. The gun's versatility, ease of use, and respectable kill times make the M4A1 one of the more commonly seen weapons in multiplayer.

The gun's performance can be further adjusted with attachments. Barrels such as the Stock M16 Grenadier and Corvus Custom Marksman will improve damage range and recoil control for engaging targets at longer distances. In contrast, the FSS 11.5" Commando barrel will grant faster move speed and ADS speed for closer encounters. The M4A1 also has a typical array of stocks, muzzles, and other attachments to tailor the gun for a variety of situations. It also possesses two unique conversion kits: 9mm Para 32-Round Mags and .458 SOCOM 10-Round Mags.

The 9mm Para conversion lowers the weapon's damage slightly, especially to the limbs. The rifle will now need 4-7 shots to the torso, 3-5 shots to the head, or 5-8 shots to the limbs to kill a target. The M4A1's effective damage range is also lowered quite significantly. In exchange for these downsides, the rate of fire is increased considerably to 993 RPM. This makes kill times quite fast up close and causes the M4A1 to function more like a SMG. Overall recoil is also lowered slightly despite the increase in fire rate.

The .458 SOCOM conversion functions in the opposite way. The M4A1's damage is boosted to a 3-shot kill or 2-shot headshot at any range. This is a sizable increase and is similar to high powered rifles like the FAL, albeit without the additional chest multiplier. This conversion will yield much more consistent performance over longer ranges. Unfortunately, the fire rate is reduced to 591 RPM, magazine capacity is a paltry 10 rounds, and recoil per shot is increased.

Trivia[]

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare[]

  • The lower receiver of the M4A1 has "BLUE4" written in tape; the M16A4 shares these markings. "BLUE4" is a reference to BluFor, the opposite of OpFor, which is applied to all NATO forces. It also says, "Property of U.S. Government, Caliber 5.56mm, M4A1 Carbine" over the magazine well.
  • When equipped with a Grenade Launcher, an unusuable leaf sight is attached onto the weapon's barrel.
  • The M4A1's serial number is "L141583".
  • The M4A1 has a foregrip in its first person model, but not its third person model.
  • The texture for the right side of the gun is the same as the left side, meaning it lacks an ejection port, brass deflector, forward assist, magazine release button, and has two bolt releases and fire selectors.
  • Reloading the M4A1 Suppressed while there's still ammo in the magazine will give a different reload sound than the default weapon.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2[]

  • The M4A1 has a slightly different firing sound in the campaign than in multiplayer, similar to an M16A4's.
  • The emblem received for getting 500 headshots with the M4A1 reads "M4 Carbine" instead of "M4A1."
  • When equipped with FMJ, the M4A1's foregrip is invisible. This does not have any effect on gameplay, and the animations still assume the position of holding a foregrip.
  • The Create-a-Class image also lacks the foregrip.
  • Attaching an ACOG Scope to an M4A1 in multiplayer causes pickup text to change from "M4A1" to "M4 ACOG Sight."
  • In the Museum, the M4A1 has a different pickup icon. With iron sights, its zoom level when aimed down the sights appears to be enhanced as if it has an ACOG scope.
  • Equipping the Silencer on the M4A1 will cause the weapon viewmodel to remain static when aiming down the sight, as the iron sights remain aligned.
  • The killfeed icon of the M4A1 is the same as the M4 Carbine from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized[]

  • The M4A1 lacks the grip in its inventory icon.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3[]

M4A1CarbineMW3
  • In the pre-release trailer, M4A1 reused the skin from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
  • In the 'Tango Down' multiplayer trailer the M4A1 can be seen with no foregrip when its being reloaded; however, the player still assumes the position of holding a foregrip.
  • It has a unique reload animation at the start the level "Black Tuesday", when Frost pulls the charging handle after putting a fresh magazine into the gun.
  • The HUD and the Create-A-Class icons lacked the grip at Call of Duty XP, but the grip was added in the retail game.
  • When looking from third-person, the grenade launcher is not placed directly in front of the magazine, unlike in first-person.
  • In "Black Tuesday", the player's starting M4A1 will have a different pickup icon. This icon has a Hybrid Sight on it instead of the default iron sights.
  • At Call of Duty XP, the pick-up name was "M4" instead of M4A1.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered[]

  • The number "04" can be seen on the rifle stock. It is also seen on the opposite side of the weapon, however flipped.
  • "PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVT. M4A1 CARBINE CAL 5.56MM S/N 90852390" can be seen engraved above the magazine. "RESTRICTED MILITARY/GOVERNMENT LAW ENFORCEMENT USE ONLY" can be seen engraved in the same location on the opposite side.
  • "FOR MILITARY/LAW ENFORCEMENT USE ONLY" can be seen engraved in between the fire selector and the bolt release. The characteristic "BLUE4" insignia is also drawn over the engraving.
  • "E523908" can be seen engraved underneath the rear iron sight.
  • Similar to the Call of Duty 4 variant, equipping a Grenade Launcher on the M4 Carbine results in an unusable leaf sight being attached to the barrel.
  • When mounting optics, the front sight is removed as usual. However, the front sight is still mounted in the third person view in the Campaign. Like several other Call of Duty games in recent years featuring AR-pattern rifles, the gas block is replaced with a low-profile one, instead of chopping off the entire gas block and gas tube, as was done with older games.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare[]

  • There are a number of markings on the M4A1:
    • The upper receiver has the markings "FT WEAPONS SYSTEM". Markings on the lower receiver indicate that "FT" stands for "Forge Tac". "Forge Tac" markings appear on various other weapons in the game such as the .50 GS, as well as in the name of various weapon attachments.
    • Additional lower receiver markings refer to the weapon as the "FS-15".
    • "04" is written in blue on the lower receiver, likely referencing the "BLUE4" which appeared on the M4A1 in Call of Duty 4.
    • An American flag with some smaller markings can be seen on the area above the charging handle.
  • Pre-release footage of the M4A1 often shows the standard weapon variant outfitted with the handguard of the XRK M4 blueprint, something not possible in-game.
  • On the "Monkey Business" blueprint, the fire selector has "Go Bananas" markings on the full-auto position, and "Ba-Boom" on the semi-auto setting.
  • The "Fair Brass" blueprint's name is a nod to Craig Fairbrass, who provided the voice of Gaz in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Fairbrass also voiced Ghost and Wallcroft in Modern Warfare 2 and 3 respectively.
  • The "XRK M4" blueprint has a unique variant of the M-16 Stock, reflecting that of the FORGE TAC Stalker.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II[]

  • The serial number of the M4 is "P50915316".
    • On the "Singularity" blueprint, the serial number of the M4 is "250295BC".
  • On the left side of the receiver, the player can see a string of text that reads: Tempus Armament Inc., Los Angeles, California, USA.
    • The text on the Tempus Torrent marksman rifle, which states that Tempus Armament is located in Austin, Texas, is a reference to Infinity Ward's two studios, which is located in Los Angeles and Austin.
  • On the opposite side of the receiver, the player can see a string of text that is similar to that on the SAKIN MG38: "RESTRICTED MILITARY/GOVERNMENT LAW ENFORCMENT/ EXPORT USE ONLY. Alongside with a QR Code, which leads to the Call Of Duty official website.
  • "K1021" can be seen written on the magazine.
  • The right side of the barrel has another serial number "L-114903"
  • The "Flatline" blueprint is a reference to the NV4, and is also named after one of its variants.
